Yesterday was one of the calmest days we have had in a while. I dropped my ski at White House Cove Marina in Poquoson and headed across the Chesapeake Bay at a leisurely 45 mph. I did not stop till I got to buoy 42 in the Baltimore Channel. I trolled and then drifted live eels for a couple of hours with no bites. Later in the day I ended up off of Plantation Light, saw a couple kayakers that made the paddle out to do some eelin, they said they had no bites all day. Finally late in the day the birds started working and the bite picked up. I caught several small stripers on a small stretch and a storm lure. On the way back to Poquoson I stopped at York Spit Light and caught another dozen stripers as they were breaking on the surface all around me as the sun was going down.

The best part of the day was coming back home to my beautiful wife who had just made a big pot of turkey soup, steaming hot and on the stove. I devoured two big bowls and fell asleep by 9 pm.
