Fishing the lumpy bottom

5 posts in this topic

Dropped a 26 Regulator in at the Wachapreague ramp.It was hot already at sunrise.Had intentions of catching some Tuna on the canyons.Temp dropped about 20 degrees as soon as we left the inlet,Wow,felt good after sweating all week.Wind and seas out of the south/southwest were a bit sporty. It was a bumpy ride,we decided to nix the canyon idea at about 30 miles, and stopped at the "sands".Picked up a few small dolphin there.Everyone stopped short, even the bigger boats.Trolled over to the"lumpy bottom" were we got a nice runoff that we knew was not another dolphin.A yellowfin tuna hit the Green machine daisy chain.Only one for the day, just over the Virginia size limit......
