I'll never forget the day I was standing knee deep in the surf reeling in my bait and had a 5ft bull shark steal my bait 8 feet away.

They are wherever they want to be.

During the daylight, I have seen them right behind the surf break eating the small stuff.

At night, they are definitely close in, often at the surf break.

So yep, lots closed than 50 feet.

Slab of fish on a 10/0 or larger circle hook will get them.

Use a couple feet of wire at the hook.
