Basically, they just asked general questions about where I fish (nothing specific), how often I fish, how many member of my family fish... We were on the phone for quite a while... :-)

There are several organizations out there doing that sort of thing. I get questioned by Virginia Game and Fish everytime I fish Lake anna. They want to know how far I've come, how many trips per year I make, what I caught, what I was targeting etc. When I saw the guy at the ramp when I was pulling in the first time I actually thought I was going to get my coolers searched, license inspected etc (which I wasn't worried about) but nope, he just had some questions. He claimed they used the information to try and track lake usage to properly plan stocking etc. I figure why not, lets give them the information, as long as no one is doing anything wrong...what's there to worry about right?

Oh heck yeah, I'd let 'em know too. I like talking to those folks.

I guess I just don't get out enuf these days to get asked....

Ya know, years back on AI, the Rangers would actually stop and talk for awhile. Do they still do that other than "checking you out"?
