Fished it again this morning and yesterday before work, 7-8 micro Specks today and one 18-20" schoolie Rockfish yesterday. So far this season only one keeper Speck but it's just starting.

Signs are still up but I only fish that side early morings before work Mon. -Thurs in order to avoid the "crowd" :icon_wink:

That side on the Ebb and the old Duck Inn side on the flood in front of the gazebo in order to get away from all the current by the bridge.

Fished in front of the gazebo last tues. during the incoming and got 14 Micro Specks up to 13" on a red 3/8 oz. with a 4" fire tiger tail.

This morning I was tossing a 1 oz. 65 series Mirrolure on a 8' rod with 15 lb. test thinking I was Striper fishing and caught 3 Micro Specks and 3 Bluefish up to 16" before changing gear. Went back out with the 7' rod and 10 lb. test gear and threw a red 3/8 oz with a pumkinseed/chartruese tail that caught 15 more Specks with 3 that were barely over 14" but they all went back to grow up.

The little guys are everywhere in the river from the back to the inlet but no real big ones yet. Hopefully the cool weather next week will get the big boys feeding like the little ones.

I did get 3 nice, fat 18"ers 2 weeks ago from the kayak near Port Norfolk so I'll probably try that spot again soon along with False Cape for the big Reds.

I love this time of year :icon_thumright:
