East Coast Storms

1 post in this topic

Currently, the east coast is getting hit with some nasty currents from the remnants of Danny Girl.

By Friday, or even Thursday, Earl will be knocking on the door.

Earl has moved out of the shear levels and will gain more strength today, it is now a Category 1 hurricane.

It will start moving up the east coast, probably staying offshore at least a couple hundred miles. I look for it to increase the surf enough to close off some beach areas, namely Assateague.

If you are planning to hit the shore this weekend, I strongly suggest you check for closures. Depending on the wobble east-west, the weekend MAY also include a rain event.
