Has anyone tried or heard of any drum on the barrier islands of the eastern shore this year, usually hear about it after its already over. Same as the flounder run. Thanks. John

Look for the ES Drum bite in a couple to three weeks during the first springtime full moon that usually = the main blue crab shed which is what the drum will be looking for to eat (AKA bait) peelers or hard crabs. Fish for them just like anywhere else in the surf in the cuts or sloughs in the sand bars or inlets between islands. Don't be afraid to try different baits like bunker. Water temps over 60*F are necessary so watch that. The Drum are already on the move from down south so it shouldn't be long.
