Been awhile since I have checked my recaptures for the tagging program so I logged back on today and found I recently had a red drum recapture.

Sad as this red drum was captured in a commercial gill net according to the report, but it was out 563 days before it's fate was sealed. Very cool to see it's grow rate during those 563 days..here's the info:

Originally tagged at NOB Pier (Norfolk, VA) on 8-25-08 and was a mere 12.5"

Recaptured in gill net on 3-11-10 off Avon, NC and was 24"

Almost doubled in size in the two years!

Glad to here of the recapture to bad the fish was killed. Red drum grow about one inch a month according to the info I got from VIMS.

Steve did you log on the VMRC website to find this information or did they send you the paper work on the recapture?

A few of us are testing it for them....

Andy, that wall has not been as good anyway the last 1 1/2 years, but still stinks!
