Herring have shown up in the last few days and so have the cows! 42 & 46 lb Stipers were caught today off of live Herring. Many smaller fish in the 12-18 lb range being caught as well. Its going to be a good year to fish!

Small to medium size have been caught in the lower Nanticoke for the past two weeks. Observed many larger fish in some of the commercial traps.

Hey Steve, April 17 right? This'll be my first season fishing from our boat in the bay - very excited.

Thursday in the Chessie:

Dropped a couple of Mojos, one white and the other chartreuse with matching 9" Shad bodies.

Landed a 42" length, 27" girth Striped one.

Weight guess about 40 lbs.

Full of eggs, safe and healthy release.

Caught her about 15 minutes after dropping lines, after release, I went back to port.

Yeah, opener is 4/17, but it will be a madhouse out there.

I'm not going until at least that Monday, let the weekend terrorists go back to their desk jobs.

I have not seen any...they have been few and far between. I have a spot where I usually get them that produces alot of fish. Nothing yet this year.

I hope the Herring come soon. I wanted to try cast netting them to get some bait for Surf Fishing. I'll let you know if I find or hear of any.

Good luck, hope the wind dies down for you. We tried out of OC inlet this am using eel. Nothing but cold hands.
