I am from Lancaster Co. in SE Pa. I bought a 15 ft. boat last summer and can't wait to try it out in the bay(now if I could just get a day off...). I would be interested in hearing some opinions as to a nice rod and reel combo for the bay,and what type of line to use. also some nice places to launch from. Thanks for the help.

You are speaking of the Chessie Bay, correct?

If you want a setup that is dependable and will last for years, don't go cheap, if you do, you'll have to buy a replacement shortly.

I would recommend a couple of different setups.

A light/medium and a medium/heavy.

Lighter one for the smaller stuff and the heavier for the Stripers.

A length of 7 1/2 feet would be ideal.

You need to determine if you want to use spinning or conventional reels.

Make sure to get a matching spinning/conventional pole.

Personally, I go with spinning.

Penn 750 with a 7 1/2 med/hvy spinning pole.

Diawa (forgot what reel) on a 7 1/2 light/med pole.
