Posted June 7, 2009 What is a boat survey? How do you get one? How much? I have a line on a nice Wellcraft Coastal 270 with a flying bridge, radar, etc....
Posted June 9, 2009 A boat survey is the equivalent to a Home Inspection when you buy a house. You have a boat mechanic go over the entire boat and that way you are aware of any issues it may have before buying it. How do you get one? Call around to some Marinas in your area or talk to some boat owners, its just like any other mechanic, better to pick one that comes recommended than just pick a name out of the phone book. And how much??? I have no clue, but if you're spending a good chunk of change on a used boat, I'd recommend the investment.
Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks Jeff.... Found one that a dealer has, still 3 year warranty on the engines. I know I can always go back to them if a problem is not disclosed. Road trip to VA Beach Thursday to look at it and give it a sea trial.
