Heard Blues showd up today in DE. My buddy in Nj caught big ones, 10-15lbs all day today inside Sandy Hook. Think Ill hit it in the am. Scoped out some nice breaks in the sand bar. Who knows.

Also one of my students fished IR inlet last night. His uncle got 3 keeper stripers. -starting to think the fish are staying away from Assateague so they don't scare the plovers...

Jim, the way I see it...we are just in the beginning of the run...quantity of fish passing by should increase as we head into mid May and then start tapering off...it'll happen...just gotta be in the right spot at the right time. I think many of us are in the wrong spot at the wrong time...on a positive note, I heard some fish were caught on the beachfront and appears catches are increasing.

While headin off the beach we saw a 35in rock that was pulled. We set back up and got 1 more skate. Wound up with too many skates to count and my dads 28in drum this weekend. Hopefully this is a sign of the beginning of the rockfish run

Yeah, I don't waive the white flag that easy. I will be out in force next weekend weeding through those skates trying to get a linesider!

Rocksandreds and I set up on AI and got nothing but doggies and skates. A friend drove by to tell us there was a blackie caught in that spot earlier in the day. We left feeling dejected, but it was good to wet a line again.

Tonight I got online and saw a friends wife got a nice striper out of the same hole we were in on Sat. Oh well right place at the right time.

It was nice to finally meet you Jim and the wife too.:)

Starting to sound like a broken record. Fished AI Sat - Mon AM with no luck. Tried north beach and south of bull-pen, saw some birds working about 400-500 yards out Sunday morning. i agree with Jim, it looked fishy. Tried bunker, finger mullet and clams.............must be doing something wrong.

Try again maybe next week-end.

Caught only sharks this weekend at AI.

You mean Dogfish, right?

Spiny or Smooth?

Smooth ones are mighty tasty!

Hit the beach with my pop and his friends...lost a black drum practically on the beach...fighting a tangled mess and the fish...snap...oh well.

Stripers are here but I just can't get one to swim by my lines...saw a large landed on the beach as I was leaving the beach.

well here goes again, fished from monday eve till wens morning around 10 am, tons of skate, changed spots three times, fished the entrance down around the bull pen and down around the line lots of rain, rain and more rain, I think my problem is bait, you cant get fresh anywhere during the week this time of year, all the bait shops stock up on the weekend then i get stuck with 5 day old crap. now I know why I never fish hard in the spring, just a lot of wasted time when i cant get fresh bait for the life of me. I will try again next week and if it is the same( no fish) I am done till summer!!! well I am tired and going to bed, been very hard to fish for three days straight in the rain with no sleep. My attitude will probably change after some sleep.:angry8::angry8::angry8::angry8::angry8::angry8::angry8::angry8:

Dave, get some on the weekend and salt-freeze it, it'll work fine.

Major kudos for getting out there in the really crappy wx.
