I learned a valuable lesson today about tying up to bulkheads. Dont do it. I was looped around the bulhead in the pic farthest out when a 30ft plus yacht decided to go full throttle right in front of me. Thanks! I positioned myself to face the incoming 2ft wave and bam the rope snapped and the yak flipped over. All of a sudden I was underwater. I swam quickly to shore and luckliy my yak was pushed near my dock. I lost my Penn 4500ss-Shimano combo and my BlackJack 2 phone. Today was -$400 day but it could''ve been worse. Me and the wife cought our limit throughout the day so it all wasnt bad. The shrimp is hot right now. I should've untied to rope, then positioned myself to face the wave.

Get out there today with a big treble hook and fish for the gear, there is a chance you could snag it. As for the phone, sorry to hear about it.... Did you have insurance on the phone?

Tip: Put phone and key FOB in a sealed plastic bag filled with air.

Attach a line to the pole to prevent future loss.

Glad you two at least got out and caught some.

Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like you aren't wearing a PFD.

Need I say more? Accidents happen, don't they?

Glad you are safe after the dunking. That's the priority!!

I would definately lash your rods to the Yak...and get a "pelican case" or possibly a tupperware container for your valuable electronics.

I like your positive attitude about the whole thing....way to go bro!
