Sailed an Open Boat Winter Flounder trip today. Headed back up to the Barney Bay where we had a few bites yesterday... Water temp was 41 on the end of the incoming... But shortly after we anchored we picked a few fish.

Chummed our Butts off, waiting for the outgoing water, water only got up to 43 madgif-1.jpg 3 deg colder than it got yesterday.Only picked a few more fish.

We wound up with 10 fish - 9 of which were Keepers. Bob AM Bates was high hook with 4 fish.

That's a bit chilly for flounder! Good job.

Sam

Yes the water is still on the cold side... action should really heat up soon...once the water warms up a bit and the nnw winds die down.

Didnt feel like spring- felt like the heart of winter again.

Warm days a coming

Well, the forecast is calling for sustained E/SE winds for the next few days, so hopefully it will warm up a bit. Of course, it will be raining as well. :)
