Fishing Fort Lauderdale this week on the Local Knowledge has been pretty productive. Sailfishing has slowed down a little bit but the mahi mahi fishing has been hard to beat. We are not seeing huge numbers of fish but the ones we are seeing are real nice ones. A lot of what we call gaffers in the 8-12 pound range up to some real nice ones from 15-30 pounds.

The larger fish are falling victim to goggleyes fished from a kite, anywhere from 100-300 feet of water, just about any kind of edge has been holding fish lately. Put the chum bag out as well and have a jig or cut bait to pitch to the fish and save your gogs.
