5852a54095e29_OccoquanLargemouth2.jpg.74So I ventured out with my daughter first thing on sat morning. It was quite chilly with a nice wind blowing straight down the river. We were just below rte 123 fishing in the park on a rock directly across from Prince William Marina. I had visions of fishing from the canoe but found the wind pushing us too hard down river. I was using small minnows that were SO small the hook killed them :) But they worked. We had close to 10 good hits before I finally set the #10 hook I was using (I was expecting perch) and landed this largemouth. Once we had him out of the water the hits all but stopped, with only 1 or 2 hits in the entire next hour before we left. But hey, its a fish, and I got out there....
