1. Caught this Giant Blue Catfish on the East Potomac River. The Bait used for this catch was fresh cut herring.

2. Eagle claw 5/0 hook still lodged in the mouth

This catfish gave me a fight of a life time...:boxing:

Good catch! how do Blues taste compared to Channels?

Not sure...I don`t eat much catfish...gave it a fellow angler.

I'd seriously recosider attempting to eat a blue cat that big out of any of these rivers...I'm sure If I look hard enough I'll find a Consumption Advisory on them....

Nice fish! I dont know how that river is but i do know the that the James River and Chicohomony River has a warning not to eat more than one serving a month due to high mercury in the fish. We catch them up there ranging from 30 to 50lbs. Ive seen some approaching 80lbs come out of the James but i havnt been that lucky yet. There is a 2 man team ternament sometime the end of March in Hopewell VA, if anyone wants to add a boat to the mix. Ill be up there just look for the black Mako. Largest fish wins, and it has to be kept alive.
