Ongoing construction at Robert E. Lee Park will prevent public access and stocking of put and take trout into Jones Falls for this spring’s 2010 stocking season. The pedestrian bridge near the Lake Roland dam has been removed and will be rebuilt. Movement of construction equipment and materials associated with the project will make public access dangerous and difficult. Baltimore County Parks has just assumed ownership of the park from Baltimore City and construction activities will be completed in spring of 2011. The 765 trout that were scheduled to be stocked into Jones Falls this spring will be stocked into the Gwynns Falls put and take area. Baltimore County Parks are graciously willing to allow access for fishermen but signs posted at the park entrance indicate the road and park are closed.
