Hi Folks,

The winter holidays are upon us but the temperatures the last couple of weeks feel more like late spring. Fishing has been pretty steady for this time of year and with the moderate temps we are having it could stay that way for a while.

Here's my report:

Inshore: Red drum and black drum are biting cut shrimp fished on a carolina rig on the falling tide. Best areas are the ICW and the inlets. In the Cape Fear River, speckled trout are biting artificials well; again on the falling tide.

Near Shore: Good size black seas bass are biting in the 5 to 15 mile range and grouper from 15 to 30 miles. A few bluefin tuna have been caught inside of 10 miles.

Offshore: The kings can be found in 68 degree water...about 40 miles out.

Gulfstream: Boats making the trip are catching wahoo and blackfin tuna. A few nice mahi are still around as well.

There is still plenty of time to go fishing and do some catching too.
