I went out today on my friend's ''go fast boat,'' looking for the first ocean striper. When we left the house this morning there was ice on the canal so I had a good feeling about the day! We ran all the way to Sand Bridge Virginia with out any good signs of fish. On the way back down we found birds so we put out the baits and started to troll.

The first few fish to bite were big Blue Fish, in the 16-17lb range. The Blues were a lot of fun and put up a good fight! Of course when we broke out the light tackle rods to play with the Blues we hooked up with the first big stripers of the season off the Outer Banks. All of the fish we caught were very nice size, two of them being over 35lbs!

Unfortunately we had to leave the bite to make the run back to Kitty Hawk before dark. So if any body is up for catching a big Striper or Blue Fish on light tackle give us a call. Welcome back cold weather and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
