I just joined this forum and have liked what I've seen. Everyone seems pretty cool.

My dad and I have just located our boat off Cobb Island. We love to catch croaker & stripper. We have been fishing from the upper potomac to the cbt for years with pretty good luck.

It seems everwhere we go everyone else but us knows what's going on with the fish.

We are looking for a group of people that will share some information on the current fishing from the 301 bridge to the mouth of the bay. I am ready to share any info about our trips also.

From what I can figure because of the latest storms the water around the 301 bridge is not very brackish. We were planning a trip this weekend (weather permitting) to go a bit further towards the bay, maybe around st georges point or sandy point. Any info would be helpfull.

Try the run over to the Tangier sound...its a long (20ish miles) run but I've often found the fishing in the sound a little more productive than the actual bay. Fish the edge of the channel with bottom rigs baited with squid strips and bloodworms. You should catch Spot, Croaker, trout and flounder on that. Get a Medium Heavy rod, matched with a reel loaded with some 50# Power Pro. Throw a Chrome/color of your choice 2oz Stingsilver and drop it straight down. Jig while you're waiting for your bottom rig to produce. The jig will give you striper, blues, trout and flounder. If you decide to head up to Sandy point, work the pilings....same concept there too.....

Thanks for the help. We've fished tangier and reedsville area for strippers with success. You're right, it's a long run from cobb island. I guess we may have to go out there if the potomac won't produce.
