Ok, so I'm working on my yak, hopefully gonna make it more useful for fishing instead of just yakking out baits. I have a Scotty Rod Holder installed, mounted an old Eagle 128 Fishfinder I had laying around. I have a battery pack of 8 D cell batteries that powers it. I have cable holders so I can permanently tie the transducer wire off to the yak. But in looking at the yak, the only place I can see to mount the transducer (its a transom mount transducer) is on the underside of the yak, at the back between the keel and the side. The height of the keep provides a nice nook for it to sit without getting knocked or damaging it during launching. My concern is screwing the transducer into the bottom of the yak. I think with enough silicone I should be just fine, but I'm looking for opinions here....thanks
