Could this be right?
nah, the satelite picks up all kinds of interference like clouds etc.
Ah... Makes sense considering the rain...

Yeah, the sat is picking up cloud temps since they are so thick.
(sounds good anyway)

well I can tell you as of yesterday the water temp down here off virginia beach was 72 yesterday with some cobia caught so its most likely true water temps.
the white is thick clouds and the purple areas are high thin clouds that hinder the temp readings slightly. like cirrus clouds or mackeral sky clouds.
