Harbor Tackle Fishing Report October 1, 2007

There are still spots open for the 28th Mid Atlantic Surf Fishing Tournament scheduled for October 4, 5, 6, 2007. This is team tournament with teams consisting of 6 persons and the fishing is held on the beaches of Ocean City. You may register up until Thursday at 5 PM.

The surf is producing mostly snapper blues and red drum. The drum have picked up this past week. Every night there have been a few reds taken. A few of the red drum reported to me have been sized from 40 to 48 inches. Last Saturday one of customers lost an expensive fishing rod and despite that he said that he had the best day fishing ever. He caught lots of blues and a 42 and 46 red drum caught and lost 2 more in the wash. Lots of flounder have been taken in the east channel. Minnows, live spot, live finger mullet has been the best bait. Flounder are showing in the Inlet. More legal stripers are being seen in the Inlet and at the Rt. 50 Bridge. Harbor Tackle receives fresh bunker, fresh spot, and fresh mullet daily.

Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, fresh spot, fresh mullet, live eels, live minnows, live sandfleas, live green crabs, and 2 sizes of live black saltys.
