I could use a little bit of help. Trying to set up a fishing trip with my brother. We've never fished in the fall in OC, so we need as much advice as we can from those of you who are knowledgeable.

We are looking at two different dates this fall that suit our calendars. Middle of September or the middle of October. Which date would be the better of the two? Is one better than the other for inshore/bay fishing and for boating? We have a smaller boat, so can't take rougher surf.

I'm grateful for anyone who could share with us their thoughts.

Good question. I am at the beach in September, so I'm not too sure what is going on in the bays. Probably some nice flounder and smaller stripers.

In October, you will probably have better luck with the larger striped bass. You might want to look at last years reports for more info.

A bad day fishing on the beach is much better than a month of good days at work. I would recommend that you give both months a try. Fall is the happening time, Drum, flounder, blues, rockfish....
