Fished the Jack yesterday. Water quality was poor but had a temperture of 65F. The blue fish were scattered and you had to work to find them. We managed to catch 5 and kept 2 for dinner. On a good note we caugth a False Albacore (Little Tunny). I have never caught False Albacore this early in the season.

We are still looking for our first Blue Fin.

We were trolling for blue fish with two lines set about 30ft down for a possible Blue fin. I kept seeing larger fish on the screen at that level. It might be a little early for the Blue Fin, or, the water was just too dirty. Either way they normally show up in June at the Jack and the water temps appear to be about right.

I plan to try again in a couple days.

It may be a little early but I don't think its to cool. Blue fin are somewhat warm blooded and can withstand cooler tempertures. I think thier migration has more to do with food and water quialty. When the Blue Fish show up in numbers the Blue Fin aren't far behind.
