National park called and told Barb the ORV would be closed till Noon

today.

Thanks for the heads up on the beach being closed till noon... did they say why??

hmm.. my only guess is that they might be expecting an extremely high tide.

they looked ready to pave this weekend.

Talked to a guy once about high tide and washover, he said they wait 2 tides after a washover to open the ORV just to be sure. I was particularly frustrated because the washover that closed it that day was after a noreaster and the conditions were currently 12 SE in early October.

I was checking out the tide chart for this coming weekend when i'll be there, and it shows a symbol like this : "-" for the first high tide Saturday a.m. the 28th of April. what does that mean?? Thanks.

That means that the "AM" high tide will occur before midnight Friday night, so there actually isn't one Saturday AM.
