if you plan on building anything

IMPERVIOUS SURFACE FEE<o></o>

It looks as though this Bill is going to pass as it is enrolled in the third reading. <o></o>Basically, all new residential dwellings will be required to pay into the State of <st1:state w:st="on"><st1>Maryland</st1></st1:state> an amount of .50/cents per square foot for establishment of a Green Fund. For commercial applications the fee is $1.00/per square foot. The way the Bills language reads, before issuance of a permit this fee is to be collected by each municipality. It will involve a lot of additional money and is to take effect July 1, 2007. <o></o>Here is another fee to be assessed on, both, residential and commercial properties.

When one pulls a building permit, it is to be collected by each municipality.

Not to start a political argument, but every time a Dem gets in office, the taxes go up. They're doubling the 911 fee on the phone bill too, but that's only 75 cents.

Think it'll stop there?

Fat chance....

Nickel and dime us enough and you will get blood....

Time to leave the People's Socialist Republic of Maryland.

and don't forget the proposed 5 cents per round tax on ammo. doesn't seem like a big deal, unless you buy 500 rounds of 22 cal.

I'll rephrase, good if it truly goes to a "green fund".

Ya'll may not see it much but up on the flats and susky all the impervious surfaces have a huge impact come those spring storms. Then again its the impervious surfaces in NY and PA that cause it...

the biggest part that bothers me is that any unspent money reverts to the states general fund

Green Fund"?

Green is the color of the bucks that go into the general funds!

Just like the Lottery tickets in the beginning, printed on them was "For MD Education" or something like that.

Then, they printed on the tickets "MD Stadium Authority", or at least it used to have it on there, sure doesn't mention education. I think they are void of such statements now.

Green fund, ROTFLMAO!

Does anyone remember Site 104 in the CB?

Spend millions of "green" dollars reseeding oyster beds.

Guess what?

Spendenning dumped Balt Harbor dredge on top of 'em!

Of course, we paid for the dumping out of another "fund".

:D
