Fishing Report by Sue Foster

Fishing this week was good on big flounder for the guys using live spot,

bunker, or finger mullet and working the deep part of the East Channel and the Ocean City Inlet. Anglers drifting minnows and squid complained of a lot of throw backs, but were happy to still be catching croaker in the upper areas of the bay. Some nice flounder were also still reported offshore around the wreck sites, though this can be "up and down." Surf was still up with kingfish, croaker, spot, a few pompano and snapper blues. Assateague surf saw the first puppy drum. Anglers are still picking up some "spinner" sharks. Striper fishing was decent from the Ocean City and Indian River Inlet at night. A few trout were also about. The Rt. 50 Bridge saw flounder and croaker by day, and stripers, bluefish, and croaker at night. Oceanic Pier saw flounder, croaker, shad, snapper blues, and a few trout. Offshore, heard of a better tuna bite and some wahoo action. White and blue marlin releases were common.
