admittedly, I perhaps "overstated", saying "wipe out". 2 things: 1. the shrimpers are tossing aside (killing) thousands of red drum and trout from their shrimp boats. 2. commercial netters catching hundreds of those same red drum and trout for commercial sale leave very few red drum and trout for hook and line guys like me. (i realize that this is all legal, but wondering what anyone else thinks of it)
i fish (hook and line for sport) the inland waterways between pamlico sound and new bern. (inner banks). does anyone know where i can find info on the NC commercial fishing laws and regulations? there seem to be more and more commercial net fishermen wiping out large populations. someone told me that NC is the only state that still allows commerical netting in inland waterways. is this true?
