  1. Thanks for all the info guys! I’ll be heading to IOP in the morning. Some good news is my fiancé’s uncle lives in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Charleston</st1:place></st1:City> and he was taking that whole week off to go fishing. I will defiantly hook up with him some. I’m not sure of witch fish and witch pier, but I know he holds two records for the biggest fish at one of the piers. I’ll take plenty of pictures to keep you updated! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
  2. The time is drawing near! Does anyone have any input for me? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
  3. Yeah I'll have to try that out one day this week. I'll lit you know how it goes. Thanks bro!
  4. 4/10/2010 This past weekend was significantly better, but not great yet. The wormer weather is bringing the fish towards the banks. Just fishing around the shore line I had loads of bites from small pan fish. I even pulled in my far share. I even walked down to the river and caught some. I missed a nice bass in the shallows; she nailed my top water rig, jumped completely out of the water and spit it back at me. And those are the ones that keep you coming back. I only got to go fishing an hour here and there. The shifter cable on the bass boat broke, so I had to go on foot patrol this weekend. Theres nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed being out and walking around and seeing all sorts of things you wouldn’t see from a boat. Also when I was down in the river I could see 8 or 10 fish in a school about as long as my arm. I tried my best to get there attention but I was unsuccessful. I even hit one of them with a plug. I’m guessing they could be catfish or carp. I though I saw one roll over, it looked like I could see something there size that was white for a moment. Maybe time will tell, ill go do some further investigating.
  5. Ha ha this is the best response I have ever had. At least I know now that there is someone on the other side! ive asked folks to give good reports. I guess I need to give one my self. look for it in a day or so. I need to learn how to post pics. I think ive tried it before with out much luck. I guess ill try again.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
  6. We need to try to post more often. I ask a question ant it may be 2 months before any one post a reply! What the hell???? I challenge you to at least post once every two days! Don’t be a punk just do it. It will really open up this forum! DO IT! I will do it too!
  7. Going to Charleston SC (isle of palms) on May 1st-8th, I plan on doing a little bit of surf fishing again. I really want to pull in a good shark this time. Is there any advice someone could give me? What you use rigs and bat wise!!! I live on a small lake and it is over loaded in bate fish, I was thinking of catching a few and freezing them. Maybe even soaking them in something for a day then freezing them. I could be wrong for that, it just seems if I have a fish with enough nasty funk on it something will want to eat it. ha ha. let me know guys!!! Thanks!
  8. Well we have settled upon a cruse. Its from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Miami</st1:City>, to st. marten, to <st1:City w:st="on">san juan</st1:City>, to <st1:country-region w:st="on">Haiti</st1:country-region>, back to <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Miami</st1:place></st1:City>. It looks like I may not get to do any fishing! L But I am going to <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Charleston</st1:place></st1:City> in just 4 weeks. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
  9. So I’m getting married to a lovely lady this summer (6/26/10) and we are currently looking for a honeymoon place to stay! Now, I like cruises but she wants to stay on an island, so I’m like that’s cool because in the back of my mind ill be packing my fishing rod. (Not a sexual pun, I really will be bringing my rod and real!) I told her this and she gave me a little hell about it, I told her I would slip a few Advil pm’s in her drink wile shes on the beach and I would come by every 3 hours or so to flip her over so she wouldn’t burn on one side wile shes passed out. LOL! She really doesn’t mind, she knows I love to fish and she likes to do a little her self. Right now we are between Bermuda and Jamaica. Now I have read that Bermuda has good bone fishing with a fly rod, but I cant find anything really on Jamaica. The fishing I’ll be doing will be on the surf. Sadly I’m not blessed enough to go rent a charter for $1,600 for a day of fishing. So what do you guys say? Where will be my best bet for a good catch?? Also what could I expect to catch? P.S. I may let her choose the place but im still wearing the pants!! Ha Ha:icon_thumright:
  10. I guess I should have updated this about 5 months ago. Well I caught a few small fish, nothing to write home about. Every thing I caught was on my smaller rod. I was using it to catch bait. I was hopping to catch a nice 6’ shark or something, but I had fun with my toes in the sand fishing in the surf. I did catch a small shark on my bait rod, ill try to post a pic of it. I cant wait to go back and try again this summer. i cant get the picture to post. o well
  11. Well guys, going to be at the isle of palms next week. I plan on doing some surf fishing during my stay. Are there any hot spots around the island? What would be a good rig to use? Is there a better time of day to fish? thanks!!
  12. Hello guys, well this past weekend fishing didn’t yield much. But I still had fun and that was the most important part. We fished around the jetties at Murrells inlet. We only picked up a few croaker, and sheepshead. I used shrimp to fish with, others used bait fish they caught in the net, but they didn’t catch anything.
  13. Hey thanks for the info guys! I appreciate the warm welcome too. I will defiantly let every one know how it turns out, maybe even snag a picture or two.<o:p></o:p>
  14. Hey guys, whats up?? Im new to the whole saltwater fishing scene, so ill defiantly need some help along the way. This past weekend, I went fishing off of the pier at surfside with some buds. Now ive been on a pier and seen folks pulling in fish before, and none of them were worth buying one of those expensive rigs to do so. So I took my ol ugly stick crappie rod. It did fine pulling in some small blues, and other things witch I have no clue of what they were. Until my brother in-law hooked a 6-7 foot shark, WOW that baby took off like nobodies business. Of course the line broke, and later someone told us that it was highly illegal to catch sharks on a pier there. But from what I hear that you can go to the next county and catch sharks at night off of the surf. I will be heading back to garden city Friday with hopes of landing a nice little shark. Another person told me that you can’t keep them, I need to find out. Also the week after next I will be heading to the isle of palms, I plan to do some surf fishing there as well. Any advice would be much appreciated. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> A little background about my self, I live on a small pond that is a few miles long in the upstate of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">South Carolina</st1:place></st1:State>. I love to fish when ever I get the chance. So I hope yall don’t mind a member that is not always fishing in the ocean on your forum. I can always give a have decent update on the local rivers, ponds and lakes. <o:p></o:p>
