  1. My friend and I are heading down to atlantic city and since i'm not a big gambler I was looking to go fishing while i'm there anyone know of any piers that are good or open 24/7 or places to surf fish in the immediate area?
  2. 1 year later same question, same area I presume these are little skates as well?
  3. So what do you propose led to such a gigantic creature getting a fractured skull was? Possibly a meteorite cracked it right in the head? :happy3: Crashing satellites into the ocean? Maybe people were dropping giant rocks out of the sky? Possibly a frame job from those devil special interest groups? Whale wars induced?
  4. I don't claim to have any knowledge of fishing when it comes to the salt. However my girlfriends parents have invited me on vacation to Bald head island, North Carolina in August, figured i'd get prepared early. http://pics3.city-data.com/csubm1/csuba2268.png So I have tons of chances to go fishing and salt rivers flow through the island as well. My question is how? How do you fish from shore? What bait do you use? Line test? How do I get my line to where the fish are? I'm pretty much clueless on all of this any help would be appreciated.
  5. Belmar, New Jersey was fishing on the Big Mohawk
  6. I just realized since it was the first skate I caught I took a lot of pictures, maybe this one will make it easier to ID?
  7. So its a winter skate OR little skate? Or is it just the same kind of skate and two different names for it?
  8. After about a day of scouting around, its a doctorfish tang.
  9. I did some further research, the red one is known as a Red Hind. The other one is some sort of Tang, anyone know?
  10. Friend caught these off a party boat in Florida, near Tampa Bay. Anyone know what they are?
  11. Any help IDing this fish caught in Conowingo would be much appreciated. <a href="http://s737.photobucket.com/albums/xx16/deftik/?action=view&current=HerringorHickoryShad.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx16/deftik/HerringorHickoryShad.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
  12. Thats what I thought at first but it doesn't look consistent with any shad photos(at least hickory which I suspected it to be). It more closely resembles a skipjack herring, but are they found in Ocean City?
  13. I caught this about a month back while fishing in Ocean City, MD was wondering what it was?
