  1. Had a good time fishing with Jayson yesterday. All of the fish he caught was on live menhaden fished on the bottom in the Wando and Cooper rivers. Nothing real big, but a good trip!
  2. The bite is on guys!! I have also been getting good reports from the other Captains in the area. Other than the wind and a little rain, this last week has been great! The trout bite has picked up, the medium size red drum is going great and the flounder are starting to show up. The trout are being caught on top water, cut and live menhaden, DOA shrimp and Gulp shrimp under a rattle float. The red drum we have put in the boat (and back in the water) are inhaling cut menhaden, cut mullet, live menhaden and live mullet on the bottom. We have a NE wind coming tuesday and Im sure Ill be putting the giant red drum in the boat. .
  3. Went out with a buddy of mine (Capt John Walpole) to see if we could get a cobia out on the channel markers that lead in to the Charleston harbor. We didnt see them on the way out,,,,,but saw about 20 of them on the way back in. We hooked up on the fish at 12:15 and put him in the boat at 12:50. My buddy had to be back early, so one fish is all we had time for. Copyrighted.
  4. You have to read this story about a little girl, her dog that passed away, and a very kind person at the post office. This is one of the kindest things I've ever experienced.. I have no way of knowing who sent it, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office at the Post Office. Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words: Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her. Love, Meredith. We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note: Dear Meredith, Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love. Love, God
  5. While washing the boat and my tackle the other day,,I noticed this in the sunlight. I had to shoot it. Tell me what you think......... I think I like this tighter crop better, but its not as sharp...
  6. ,,,,,Hey Sam,,How is it going? I know you are getting plenty of pictures.
  7. How long is this fish? Look at it hard and tell me what you think. ,,,,,,Ill say 36"-38" ..
  8. I was just wondering about all the stuff you had to get ready for Bass Pro Shop. When is the big day? (I got the DVD back, thanks)
  9. Ha-Ha-Ha,,,yeah I'm in a good mood! Went to the Charleston County Trident Fishing Tournament Banquet last night. I had submitted some pictures for the photo contest and also weighed in plenty of fish for the 2008 fishing contest. Well,,,I had a good feeling that I placed high in the photography competition, (won first place),,,, but I had no idea that I won first place in the "Outstanding Charter Boat-Inshore" competition also. Man,,,what a great night......(and free beer too) Here is the 100.00 dollar shot. I didn't take the camera with me to the banquet,,so I don't have any pic's of the event.
