WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) Gerard Gallant and Paul Maurice do not know each other well despite having their NHL coaching careers overlap for several years. The men behind the benches for the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets, though, both have led their teams into the Western Conference final after following long, winding paths.”It’s quite a story for both of them,” Hall of Fame coach Scotty Bowman said in a telephone interview.Gallant was fired by the Florida Panthers with a winning record just 21 games into the 2016-17 season, leaving him to catch a cab outside the arena in Raleigh San Jose Sharks T-Shirts Authentic , North Carolina, after his belongings were unloaded from the bus.Maurice was fired by the Carolina Hurricanes twice. The second time was after just 25 games of the 2011-12 season. They will match wits Wednesday night in Game 3 when Vegas hopes home ice gives it an advantage in the deadlocked series.Gallant was infamously relieved of his duties with the Panthers, a season after being a finalist for coach of the year, because of philosophical differences between analytics-minded management and the old-school coach.”He was left on the curb,” Golden Knights forward James Neal said.Vegas center Jonathan Marchessault was on the bus when news broke that Florida had fired its coach.”It was kind of out of nowhere,” he recalled. And it worked out very well for Gallant and a team that also came out of nowhere. The coach discarded by the Panthers has led a collection of castoffs to a stunningly successful expansion season.”It’s a perfect fit,” Marchessault said.If the straight-shooting coach can help Vegas win three more games, he’ll join Scotty Bowman as the only coaches to lead a first-year expansion team to the Stanley Cup final. Bowman did it 50 years ago with the St. Louis Blues, and the Hall of Famer is rooting for Gallant.”It’s a nice story because he deserved a better fate in Florida,” Bowman said. ”People felt bad for him the way it happened in Carolina. I know there were some teams thinking about hiring him before Vegas did.”Gallant won a career-high 51 games this season, his seventh in the league.Likewise, Maurice had his best season with what he said has been his best team. He won a career-high 52 games in his 20th year as an NHL coach. He’s three wins away from advancing to the Stanley Cup final for a second time. In 2002, the Bowman-led Red Wings beat Carolina and hoisted the Cup.Maurice broke into the league as a coach in 1995 with the Hartford Whalers San Jose Sharks Hoodies Authentic , who moved to Carolina two years later. After he was fired the first time by the franchise, he lasted just two seasons and was 10 games over .500 in a pressure-cooker job with the Toronto Maple Leafs.Winnipeg hired him to lead its franchise with 35 games left in the 2013-14 season. The Jets were patient enough to let him guide a young team he took to the playoffs only once – without winning a game – before their breakout performance this season. When Winnipeg opened the postseason with a win over Minnesota, it was Maurice’s first victory in the playoffs since 2009 during his second stint with the Hurricanes. It reinforced a perspective he gained with two decades in the world’s top hockey league, knowing very well how hard it is to win in a league that may have more parity that any other in North American professional sports.”What I’ve learned – the short answer is – it’s special,” Maurice said.Maurice is as much of a student as a teacher, evolving as a communicator after having language barriers with players while coaching in Russia and learning to show perhaps 10 video clips to his players instead of 100 after coaching in the World Cup of Hockey.”He’s intense in games, but when we aren’t playing he’s pretty laid-back,” Winnipeg forward Andrew Copp said. ”He’s been in a pretty good mood, cracking some jokes in meetings lately. It shows his confidence in our team. It’s nice to have a coach behind the bench who doesn’t panic. He has an air of confidence and we carry that mentality, too.”—

It provided a bit of a questionable look — especially since Bowles had been so angered by the crude celebration."As far as the endorsement deal, I don't want to get too much into that," Crowell said. After reaching the end zone, Crowell took the football, wiped it against his rear end and then fired it into the stands.Bowles spoke to Crowell to make it clear that he didn't approve of his player's actions. Crowell insisted after the game that he wasn't trying to send a message to the Browns. He was only having fun, he said, but felt bad about the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty his celebration drew."The play itself won't happen again on our field," Bowles said. "I can't do anything about anybody's endorsement deals off the field White Terrance Mitchell Jersey , but on this team it won't happen."Bowles said he didn't consider benching Crowell at the time because he didn't see the celebration until watching the game film. When asked if he was disciplined by the team, Crowell said he was punished by the NFL with the fine — but wouldn't say whether he would appeal."I mean, that's my business, right?" he said.Crowell, who leads the Jets with 171 yards rushing and four touchdowns, just wanted to flush away the chatter about his TD wipe."I really don't want to keep talking about the endorsement deals," he said. "I want to keep my focus on the upcoming games, if I can." Cycling through head coaches is far from ideal, but change was so badly needed in Cleveland that the charade had to finally be put to sleep. Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam had afforded Hue Jackson a benefit of the doubt rope longer than anyone has ever had. They made sure they did things that way so they’d avoid more backlash for yet another organizational upheaval. That benefit expired after a 25th-consecutive road loss, a loss in which Jackson and new, now former offensive coordinator Todd Haley’s offense again failed to achieve any kind of competency. There’s something really disheartening to be said for the level of inept football we were still witnessing three years into Jackson’s Browns era. The entirety of NFL history had never seen a coach yield such poor results as Jackson’s 3-36-1 record, including 3-13-1 in games decided by one score or less. Other coaches have had bad rosters. They have had rookie quarterbacks. They have had tear-down and burnt-to-ashes rosters that weren’t expected or intended to contend. Those teams still won games. They had an effective plan. They got better. Some still fired the coaches despite those improvements. But the Haslams didn’t want to do that. They wanted to leave no doubt. There was coaching happening in those situations that inspired confidence that those coaches had the personal and football acumens to lead a group of men into a collective and successful enterprise. If they didn’t, they were gone. But not in Cleveland. The Browns ownership shied away from making any impulse reactions to any isolated problems they saw from their head coach over a short timeframe. They wanted to see Jackson’s plan come to life, but it unfortunately never did. The same problems persisted, and the miserable results on Sundays became unjustifiable. There’s a common misconception—supported by the Haslams’ inaction for so long after taking swift corrective actions in the past—that organizational continuity is necessary to win in the NFL.If only teams would just stick with one guy long enough to see whether he has what it takes, then they can truly see what they need to from a coach. But, friends http://www.authenticsclevelandbrowns.com/cheap-jamie-collins-jersey , that time had already passed. That’s the ship that sailed weeks ago, had been taking torpedoes to the hull every week, and finally sank to the bottom of Lake Erie in Week 8.Continuity for continuity’s sake, that’s where we were at.Despite the realities, we’re drawn to resist change. Many believe that anything is better than changing head coaches every season, which perpetuates the unknown feelings brought on by that change. Loyalty, passion, and stability are nothing to turn your nose up at, after all. There’s nothing wrong with believing those are true and worthwhile values.Consistency is a good thing, it really is.But what feels appropriate and might be valid isn’t always correct in every circumstance. This NFL coaching task isn’t an easy endeavor. That’s why so many fail, then are re-cycled and given new settings only to fail again, much like quarterbacks. A head coach receives the highest scrutiny, as they should. The Los Angeles Rams defied this conservative and conventional wisdom. They moved and hired an unknown but young and promising head coach, and in two seasons he transformed them from talented middler into a Super Bowl contender. Everything Sean McVay does is as non-conventional as the decision was to hire him to replace veteran Jeff Fisher.McVay’s best quality? He’s not afraid to take chances. But more importantly, he knows when to make those calculated risks that stray from the norm. He knows how to relate to his players but also hold them accountable to his standards. He makes winning fun, not the daily grind to get there. How are NFL teams going to continue the same patterns and expect to have any kind of competitive edge? They don’t. There needs to be innovation. There needs to be discipline. There needs to be a belief in the plan, and buy-in from all the players. Liking a guy isn’t enough. It’s refreshing that this organization has finally woken up to this reality and decided to shed these archaic dinosaurs to move on to this new age. But in reality Youth Nick Chubb Jersey , it isn’t a new age at all. It’s what has always been done by winning football teams. Players don’t overtly love Bill Belichick for his personality, they love him because he excels at his job.He wins. He helps them win. And they love him for that above all else.Arguing about whose at fault for the Browns not measuring up to their demonstrated caliber while blaming everyone but the coaching staff eventually became an untenable position. Plainly, it got old. This change had to be now. After falling to 2-6-1 with a tough remaining schedule, the future takes precedence, and that future looks brighter now than it did 24 hours ago.Jackson seems like a great guy, and he was a successful coordinator for a period, but head football coaches in the NFL have to be more. They can’t just be like-able guys who make people feel good to be around them.In 2018, Jackson inherited a much better NFL roster with viable and competitive players and experienced coordinators, yet the results were nearly the same. It wasn’t going to get better with time, it’d have continued much the same or gotten worse. Keeping the status quo wouldn’t have fixed the problems we saw every week. The penalties and lapses weren’t going to stop. The game plan wasn’t going to evolve. The innovation that’s needed wasn’t going to suddenly emerge three years into this thing. The time lost with Jackson is a sunk cost at this point, and it unquestionably became time to make the appropriate fixes sooner than later to get the Browns headed on an upward trajectory. By making this decision now, the organization can get a head start on finding individuals they believe fit the mold of this new age NFL. They will look for coaches who can inspire confidence through innovation.Dorsey needs to seek out these coaches who can better identify weaknesses and plan around them. But most importantly, he needs to find people who will hold themselves and their players accountable. It’s not an easy task, but the search begins now, and Gregg Williams has the job of keeping the ship afloat until they find the right guys to do it.Things might get ugly, but at least it’ll be a fun ride. 12. in the AFC South division to suffer an opening week loss. However http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-malcolm-butler-jersey , the loss in Miami was more excruciating due to the overall game length and the casualties accrued. Losing Delanie Walker late in the game was a shot to the heart. To lose a leader, an offense producing, tone-setting player like Walker for the season overshadowed everything else that transpired.Yes, Marcus Mariota was lost early with an injured arm and returned sooner than he should have. Yes, we can’t forget the visual of a lifeless Taylor Lewan on the field of Hard Rock Stadium. When the cornerstones of the team are all eliminated from the game - and one for the season - it is almost impossible to stomach. But - and it’s a HUGE but - despite the egregious penalties that went in favor of the Dolphins, despite being without our starting quarterback and left tackle for the remainder of the game and despite losing Walker for the year, the Titans aren’t out of the hunt yet. Although the game felt like it was lost by double-digits, the Dolphins narrowly won 27-20. Had Taywan Taylor held onto the ball, had Walker’s facemask not held a Dolphin defenders hand to negate a 60 touchdown run by Derrick Henry, had we took the points instead of going for it on fourth down inside the 10 yard line - the outcome would have been different. But, it happened how it happened. At the end of the day, there are specific plays we as fans would like to get back - but also a handful players/coaches would want back too.Elephant in the RoomThe home opener will likely lack some of the positive ambiance that was initially anticipated. The dark cloud of Walker’s injury will still be lingering Sunday morning. For HC Mike Vrabel, his work started on the plane ride back to Nashville. He undoubtedly knows how much Walker meant both on the field and in the locker room. Vrabel will have to find a way to address team with a genuine understanding as opposed to a calloused “next guy up” approach. It will be difficult, but is achievable. Vrabel and OC Matt LaFleur must also have a lengthy discussion with Jonnu Smith - who will have a drastically larger role in the offense moving forward. Smith, who has Delanie-traits, needs to figure out how to maximize his production in Walker’s absence. The Titans could reach out to some former players that are looking for employment. Anthony Fasano would be my preference Rashaan Evans Jersey , but whether or not he is pursued is unknown.Once the team gets clarification on the severity of Mariota’s injury, the coaching staff will waste no time tailoring the game plan to the players they’ll have available Sunday needs to happen quick.Division Opponents Houston also suffered a seven-point loss to an AFC East team Sunday. The Texans had 167 yards on the ground led by RB Lamar Miller’s 98. Deshaun Watson had 40 and Alfred Blue had 36. The Titans defense struggled in containing Kenyon Drake and Frank Gore in Miami. The Texans will attempt to exploit the Titans run defense by feeding their backs and encouraging Watson to rely on his wheels when the opportunities arise. The secondary had their hands full with Kenny Stills - who accounted for two touchdowns and over 100 yards. Despite recording two interceptions, the secondary must prepare for covering receivers longer due to an ineffective pass rush. Speaking of the pass rush - the defense couldn’t need Harold Landry more. Landry’s youth, speed and bend was something that could have made a difference in the “almosts” sacks that were. At times, Titans defenders were not even in the same area code as Ryan Tannehill. If Still can have a day like he did, DeAndre Hopkins will be a headache. He has wreaked havoc in games against Tennessee and his notorious push-offs can be expected. Nevertheless, the Titans have to find a way to eliminate Hopkins. Will Fuller - who has also developed into a thorn in the Titans side - did not play against New England and is dealing with a hamstring injury. We’ve been down this road before. Fuller missed the first three games of the 2017 season, then was ready to go against the Titans in week four. He finished the game with two touchdowns. A year prior, he returned a punt for a touchdown that also impacted the end result. If Fuller is a no go Sunday, that helps the Titans chances. If he is miraculously healed, it could be a long day. The Titans have to be ready to take the best Houston has to offer. If Tennessee takes the field without both starting tackles, Mariota and (the obvious) Walker, the team must depend on the offensive line to do just enough to allow Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry space.Lewis and Henry (on the 60 yard touchdown) both looked like they can help carry the offense no matter who is under center. They may not have a choice.Predictions for the 2018 NFL season opener? It’s here. Regular season football is coming tonight at 7:20 p.m. central time on NBC. The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Atlanta Falcons in Philadelphia in a battle between two NFC heavyweights. As far as overall rosters go, both the Falcons and Eagles are full of talent. Losing Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery for the beginning of the season is tough, but Nick Foles is surrounding by one of the best supporting casts on offense, with the best offensive line Authentic Marcus Mariota Jersey , a sensational play caller in Doug Pederson, and a fun set of skill players in Jay Ajayi, Zach Ertz, Corey Clement and Dallas Goedert. Outside of corner, the defense has zero holes. For the Falcons, Matt Ryan is one of the best quarterbacks in football, the backfield of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman is sensational, the receiving corps has plenty of depth, and the offensive line should improve this season. The problem is how far does this team go with Steve Sarkisian calling the plays, because he was a train wreck last year.Fortunately, the defense could break out as a top five unit. There’s a lot of depth on this side of the ball, including defensive ends Vic Beasley and Takkarist McKinley, defensive tackles Grady Jarrett, Terrell McClain and Deadrin Senat, linebackers Deion Jones and De’Vondre Campbell, corners Desmond Trufant Youth Wesley Woodyard Jersey , Robert Alford, Brian Poole and Isaiah Oliver and safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen. The last time these two teams faced, it was a 15-10 nail biting victory for the Eagles in the Divisional Round. Both defenses played each other really well, and considering almost all of the talent from both sides is intact, this could be another defensive stronghold. However, the key difference lies in the quality of coaching on both offenses as well as if Foles sustains his magical postseason run. Pederson is on a different level from Sarkisian as a play caller, and frankly it’s not close.Foles has had struggles in the preseason (though let’s be real, it’s the preseason), so there is some uncertainty going into the game, but with homefield advantage, I have the Eagles winning tonight. However, if Foles plays awful, the Falcons have this one. The Eagles still have the superior team and the superior coaching.
  13. Cameron Wolfe writes that the Titans had an aggressive offseason to help Marcus Mariota. I really think he hits the nail on the head here Youth Delanie Walker Jersey , as everything the Titans did this offseason was to take the next step and help Marcus thrive. I think the only thing the Titans could have maybe done better would have been to get Marcus another WR or pass catching threat, which they apparently did in trying to bring in Rob Gronkowski, the GOAT TE. Igniting the Fire: Episode 1 on Mike Vrabel was really good. I think I’ll enjoy the pieces on the players and more of the coaching staff more, but it had some really great behind-the-scenes clips you wouldn’t be able to see anywhere else. ESPN picks the Titans as the #1 most likely team to miss the playoffs this year after making it last year. I’m very surprised the Bills weren’t #1. The Texans are chosen as the team most likely to make the playoffs after missing it last year. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee's three-game skid is over http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-taylor-lewan-jersey , and the Titans are back to .500 after a big road victory. But before they can catch their breath, the Titans have a short week before they host the surging New England Patriots in what will be Tennessee's lone home game in November.Coach Mike Vrabel understands the challenge — and opportunity — the Titans have going against his old coach, Bill Belichick. "We've just gotten ourselves to the surface where there's a little bit of air, a little bit of water," Vrabel said Tuesday. "You're kind of taking a little bit of both in and you can't survive there for long. But you can survive there for a few minutes. And so we got to make the next decision to see if we can get our heads completely above water."The Titans (4-4) still trail the Houston Texans (6-3) inside the AFC South Corey Davis Jersey , but their 28-14 victory in Dallas on Monday night put Tennessee into the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC for now. The Titans shook off a horrific start with two fumbles by Marcus Mariota on their first two drives to turn score a season-high in points after managing just 31 points all of October.Vrabel credited the Titans with shaking off that start. Tennessee turned two turnovers into 14 points, came up with five sacks and held Ezekiel Elliott to just 61 yards rushing.Offensively, the young Titans showed serious signs of progress in offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur's scheme. They converted 11 of 14 attempts on third down for a 78.6 percent rate that was the best in the NFL this season and tied for the league's highest in the past three years. The Titans tied up the game at 7-7 with the franchise's longest drive since Dec. 9, 2012, using up 8 minutes Authentic Kamalei Correa Jersey , 55 seconds.Tennessee scored touchdowns on four of five trips inside the Dallas 20 against a Cowboys defense that came in as the NFL's second stingiest in the red zone. Mariota also completed passes to nine different receivers and had a season-high 119.9 passer rating throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 32 more yards and another score."I hope it's that guys are understanding where they fit, what they need to do to get open and understand when they get open, Marcus is going to try to get them the ball," Vrabel said of the Titans' offense.Left tackle Taylor Lewan, who spoke about the Titans deserving respect after a 3-1 start Youth Kenny Vaccaro Jersey , said he is just relieved to win a game and get back to .500."I'll definitely keep my (expletive) mouth shut from now on about that kind of stuff," Lewan said. "Daddy learned his lesson."Cornerback Logan Ryan said the Titans knew they were in a must-win situation in Dallas and that one win in the NFL can turn things around."It was a huge win," Ryan said after the game. "Now we know we've got a tough test next week, and we will be ready."The Titans host the Patriots (7-2) on Sunday before heading back on the road to Indianapolis and Houston. The Patriots routed Tennessee 35-14 in an AFC divisional game last January. Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk fired Mike Mularkey after that game and chose Vrabel to take this franchise further."We have to just get our players as ready as we can for the game," Vrabel said.Notes: Vrabel made it clear he didn't like safety Kevin Byard celebrating his interception by running to the star at midfield and posing like Terrell Owens 18 years ago. The coach said he plans to talk again with the safety and the Titans on Wednesday http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dennis-kelly-jersey , and Vrabel said he wants them to celebrate with each other.
  14. Golden Tate on their 53-man roster Philadelphia Eagles Hats , the Philadelphia Eagles waived undrafted rookie free agent Bruce Hector. The team officially announced the news on Tuesday evening.Hector began the season on Philadelphia’s 53-man roster but the Eagles waived him in early October in order to call up Treyvon Hester from the practice squad. Hector then replaced Hester on the practice squad. Haloti Ngata’s calf injury forced the Eagles to call Hector back up to the roster in mid-October. With Ngata now back healthy, however, Hector’s presence is no longer needed. It’s entirely possible the Eagles try to bring Hector back to the practice squad once again Philadelphia Eagles Hoodie , assuming he clears waivers. Philadelphia has a vacant practice squad spot after calling Chandon Sullivan up to the main roster last week.Fletcher Cox, Ngata, and Hester are now the only three full-time defensive tackles on the Eagles’ 53-man roster. Defensive ends Brandon Graham and Michael Bennett are also capable of lining up inside when needed. The Eagles also have Timmy Jernigan on their reserve/non-football injury. He’s eligible to begin practicing but it’s unclear if/when that’ll happen. UPDATE: On that last note ... 15. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — for Sunday's game at the Los Angeles Rams. With the Eagles' No. 1 quarterback out Youth Corey Graham Jersey , Nick Foles gets another opportunity to rescue the team he led to a Super Bowl victory last season. The Eagles moved Wentz from doubtful to out on the injury list Saturday. Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Wentz does not require surgery for a stress fracture in his back and the injury could take up to three months to heal. But Pederson wouldn't rule him out for the rest of this season. The Eagles (6-7) are still in the chase for a playoff spot. There's no lack of confidence in Foles among the Eagles, of course."He's the guy and it's my job to create as much separation for him or if he gives me an opportunity and I am covered, go get it," wide receiver Nelson Agholor said after Friday's practice.Foles hasn't taken a snap in a game since Week 2. He took over in Week 14 last season after Wentz tore two ligaments in his left knee during a comeback win on the road against the Rams. Foles led Philadelphia to its first NFL title since 1960 and started the first two games this season, going 1-1."Nick is a Super Bowl MVP quarterback for a reason and we've got a ton of confidence that he's going to give it his all like he always does," said tight end Zach Ertz Youth Chris Long Jersey , who caught the winning touchdown pass from Foles in Philadelphia's 41-33 win over New England in February.Foles is 21-12 as a starter, including playoffs, in two stints with Philadelphia. He has completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 451 yards, one TD and one interception this season. He was outstanding last postseason, completing 72.6 percent of his passes for 971 yards, six TDs http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/lane-johnson-jersey-cheap , one pick and also had a TD catch.Pederson is optimistic about Wentz's recovery."The fact that he doesn't need surgery on this is the best news you could possibly have on anybody that has a stress fracture or stress injury," Pederson said Friday. The team isn't certain when Wentz got hurt and Pederson said the injury developed over time. A test on Tuesday revealed his condition."He's one of the toughest dudes I know, but of course it's going to affect him," wide receiver Jordan Matthews said after Thursday's practice. "You have to be able to twist, you have to be able to turn. Carson is probably the best quarterback also throwing off the run, so that affects your running http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/jason-peters-jersey-cheap , too. He's wearing a knee brace. This guy is playing through a lot."Former Eagles running back is joining the Patriots Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenjon Barner is expected to sign with the New England Patriots, according to a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Reiss also notes that Barner recently worked out for the Pats. The 28-year-old Barner was released during the Panthers’ final roster cuts earlier this month. Barner signed with Carolina back in May after the Eagles showed no interest in re-signing him.The Eagles first re-signed Barner, who they originally traded for back in 2014, to their roster late last September after Darren Sproles suffered season ending injuries. Barner ended up being Philadelphia’s primary kick and punt returner, as well as a reserve running back, for most of the 2017 season. He remained with the team through their Super Bowl win.Although it’s great to see Barner get another job opportunity Cheap Derek Barnett Jersey , it’s a bummer to see he’s joining the Pats. It’s also a bummer to know he won’t be available if the Eagles need some veteran help at returner/running back if injuries prove to be a problem like they did last year. Barner joins a Patriots backfield that also features James White, Rex Burkhead, and first-round pick Sony Michel. ...In other former Eagles news, Steven Means and Corey Nelson both signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.
