  1. San Francisco 49ers T-Shirt , “absolutely on track” The San Francisco 49ers 2018 season has fallen to nothing short of disaster and disappointment. 2017 was a rebuild that appeared accelerated with the arrival of Jimmy Garoppolo. Before everything began, many thought this was a Wild Card team. Now the 49ers are in the running for the first pick of the 2019 NFL draft. All disappointment considered, Adam Schefter still thinks the 49ers rebuild is going just as scheduled. The ESPN insider was on KNBR’s Murph and Mac and had this to say regarding the team: Schefter also later pointed out that the 49ers did their due diligence on Josh Gordon (whom he reminded Kyle Shanahan worked with while offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns) and also Khalil Mack (whom Schefter called the 49ers a finalist for). The entire interview is worth a listen (it’s roughly 10 minutes) and if nothing else, has a voice of reason for 49ers fans. When Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL in the final practice of training camp San Francisco 49ers Hats , it was a omen of things to come. A few weeks later, Jimmy Garoppolo followed in the same injury and now the 49ers have an injury report longer than the classic novel War and Peace. Many were optimism for a playoff appearance, but no one could have predicted this skid of one win to their name. Some are wondering with the recent losses if John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan are doing all they can to help this team. If anyone can give an unbiased opinion of everything, it’s Schefter. The 49ers were rebuilding no matter how this season goes and as far as improving on the win total from last year San Francisco 49ers Hoodie , the team has just hit a fountain of bad luck. The 49ers announced their plan to waive linebacker Reuben Foster on Sunday morning after Foster was arrested at the team’s hotel in Tampa on a domestic violence charge. It was a change from the way they handled Foster’s offseason domestic violence arrest. Foster stayed away from the team, but remained on the roster as the process played out and rejoined the team after his accuser — the same woman from the more recent incident — recanted her allegation.49ers General Manager John Lynch said Foster “not living up to what we have communicated” was the reason for the different reaction this time and called it “disappointing.” Cornerback Richard Sherman used the same word after the game while also saying that he wishes the best for Foster and understands the team’s decision.“It’s what they had to do,” Sherman said, via NBC Bay Area. “I think the organization has handled the situation as best they could. Obviously been patient and deliberate and understanding of who Reuben is and what kind of heart he has. But it’s a really compromising situation for the team Cheap Customized San Francisco 49ers Jerseys , repeatedly. So, you understand the decision the organization has to make, after repeated offenses.”Sherman said “you never want to make excuses like that” when asked if the timing of the arrest and subsequent announcement from the team contributed to their 27-9 loss to the Buccaneers. It may have had some impact, but the 49ers’ 2-9 record suggests they were going to have a hard time winning under any circumstances.
  2. The San Francisco 49ers dropped an ugly loss in Week 5 and the previously winless Arizona Cardinals are now 1-4. The 49ers dropped to 1-4 Authentic Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , losing by a final score of 28-12. And drop really is the key phrase given how badly the 49ers receivers looked trying to catch the ball. This was a decidedly ugly game, and win or lose, it was going to tell us something about the 49ers. They are just not a good football team right now. They can make things happen, and can do some very impressive things, but more often than not they are screwing up. It is either bad tackling, or dropped passes, or penalties, or some shaky play-calling, or otherwise poor execution.C.J. Beathard’s performance was a mix of everything on Sunday. He made some big plays Authentic Kyle Juszczyk Jersey , but he was twice stripped of the ball. His pocket awareness is not so good, and it is leading to bad things. At the same time, when he was executing on his throws, he was not helped by his receivers. They regularly dropped big passes that cost the team chances to convert and move down the field. Drops and three lost turnovers put the 49ers in a bad position most of the day.You know it was a bad day when Robbie Gould had a rough outing. The 49ers scored a touchdown on their opening drive and Gould missed a field goal. The hold looked OK, but something wasn’t right and Gould didn’t attempt to kick. Later in the game, trailing 14-6, Gould missed a 45-yard attempt. Who knows what happens late in the game if those four points are converted, but things finish a little different. That being said, even with a win this was a statement as to the 49ers problems. The Cardinals entered the game as the last remaining winless team. Their defense was pretty solid coming in http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/ahkello-witherspoon-jersey , and Josh Rosen is an upgrade over Sam Bradford, but they are still not a particularly good team. They showed it in this game, with the 49ers out-gaining them by a sizable margin. And yet, the 49ers were trailing most of the day and never seemed like they were getting enough done.It was also a rough day on the injury report. They didn’t lose nearly as many players as they have the past few weeks, but there was a big one. Running back Matt Breida suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter. He left to get his ankles taped, but then was sent to the locker room. He was ruled out early in the third quarter. His status for Week 6 is up in the air.Up Next: @ Green Bay Packers, Monday Night FootballThe 49ers have their first prime time game of the season when they travel to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. The Packers lost 31-23 to the Detroit Lions in a game they trailed nearly wire-to-wire. They pushed back with a pair of third quarter scores, but the defense couldn’t get a needed stop early in the fourth quarter. The story of the game was Mason Crosby missing four field goals and an extra point on the day. Green Bay dropped to 2-2-1 with the loss. Saturday is the last full practice of the San Francisco 49ers before they take on the New York Giants in their game on Monday Night Football. The final injury report will be available momentarily and Kyle Shanahan will be set to take the podium for some details but the beat writers are reporting on what the inactives are. Safety Jaquiski Tartt, wide receiver Pierre Gar莽on White Ahkello Witherspoon Jersey , and linebacker Reuben Foster are all listed as out for the 49ers Monday night game. All three of these players had been sitting out practices so the news shouldn’t be too surprising that they wouldn’t be good to go Monday Night. Reuben Foster was already trending in the direction of being out as the week went on. Additionally, tight end George Kittle looks ready to go Monday Night. Kyle Shanahan will be having his press conference with the media shortly, so we can get some more details from there. 49ers Saturday practice participation reportDNP: LB Reuben Foster (hamstring), WR Pierre Garcon (knee), S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder)Limited: TE George Kittle (chest)Full participants: TE Garrett Celek (not injury related), G Joshua Garnett (thumb), C Weston Richburg (knee), T Joe Staley (not injury related)
  3. ... that would change things dramatically’ The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their week of practice on Friday Authentic K'Waun Williams Jersey , and head coach Kyle Shanahan had a brief press conference after. He talked about injuries and C.J. Beathard’s practice week, but I liked hearing some of his thoughts on the 49ers struggles even without the loss of Jimmy Garoppolo.Shanahan is pleased with the run game, but thinks the team needs to find ways to improve on third down, both offensively and defensively. The 49ers are already a big step behind the eight ball without Jimmy Garoppolo, so the run game will be that much more critical. Matt Breida and Alfred Morris are both questionable. Both seem to be looking OK in practice, although Breida appears to be a bit more of a game-time decision than Morris. Regardless, the 49ers badly need their run game in gear to clean up this third down problem. They need strong showings in the early downs to set up more 3rd and manageable situations. C.J. Beathard is more of a dink and dunk guy than Garoppolo, so getting to 3rd and short is critical. On the other side of the ball, giving up conversions on 3rd and 15 (or setting up 4th and 1s) are not going to help anybody. The 49ers defense was atrocious in the first half against the Chiefs in general, but particularly on third down. Nobody (other than the Rams) has an offense quite like the Chiefs, but the Chargers are dynamic enough to be concerning. It is critical the 49ers defense finds some third down success. Here’s Shanahan’s full transcript from Friday.Do you have any clarity on how your defensive backfield is going to look on Sunday?“Yes. [G Joshua] Garnett’s out. [CB Richard Sherman] Sherm’s out. [S Jaquiski] Tartt’s doubtful. [RB Matt] Breida, [RB] Alfred [Morris] and [DB Adrian] Colbert, all three will be questionable.”Will you go with DB Antone Exum Jr. again as Tartt’s replacement?“Most likely.”With Breida, what is the remaining hurdle for him?“Just to see how he feels on game day. He’s been up and down a little bit this week. He got a little bit more yesterday. We kept him limited today just trying to manage the wear and tear. But Authentic Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , questionable is better than doubtful so hoping it works out.”QB C.J. Beathard spent the offseason with TE George Kittle and WR Trent Taylor working out together in Tennessee working on the offense. Was it obvious when they got back that they had been working on it? Were they sharper in obvious ways to you when they returned?“I think they were pretty similar. Those guys are close. Two of them went to college together and I think they’re all from close to that area and I think they all like country music. So, it’s a good place for them to go hang out. But, all three of those guys work year-round. They’ve been great since the day they’ve gotten here. But, yes, they all did come back better. I don’t know if it was because they were together or just because that’s expected in year two, also.”With the increased reps, I know you talked about C.J. should be more comfortable in year two. Were you able to see that this week in practice?“Yeah. We’ve seen it since OTAs. Just going against our defense every day, I think he’s got a real good feel for that and a real good feel for our offense. He stepped in this week and had a hell of a week of practice.”What makes it a good week of practice?“Just going to the right people, staying in a good rhythm, going through his progressions, making the right reads, getting the ball to, you can always see after a play based off the play call and the coverages that you’re going against where the ball should go. How many times do they get it there? He’s been very consistent with that.”There’s so much focus on the quarterback this week and can Beathard salvage the season and all that. But, as you look at the team overall Authentic Kyle Juszczyk Jersey , do you feel like it’s not just on C.J., a lot of areas need to improve for you guys to kind of have a chance here?“Yes, no doubt. I think offensively we’ve been running the ball well. I think we need to get a lot better on third down. We’ve struggled to do well on drives, to me, when we’ve had a lot of third downs because we haven’t been very consistent with that. We’ve done better in short yardage, just not better in the longer yardages. I think we’ve been in a lot of long third downs too which means you’ve got to get better with some penalties, taking some sacks. Then we’ve got to do better at converting. Defensively, we’ve talked about it. We need to get better at tackling, first and foremost, and do better at third down on defense also. I think both sides of the ball, first thing, if we could get off the field on third down on defense and we could stay on the field on offense on third down I think that would change a lot of things dramatically.”You talked last year that you were done checking on LB Reuben Foster on the field. He tricked you again.“I know. I tried so hard not to go. I also, so no one ever takes it wrong, I don’t plan on going out there every time a player is down. They don’t need to see me. I’m not going to make them feel better. Doctors are around trying to do their job and everyone is around anyways. I don’t think it helps for me to just get in there and stare at someone. So http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/ahkello-witherspoon-jersey , I try not to go out there unless there’s something real serious and then you’re just concerned and you want to go check on the guy. But, Reuben’s gotten me like one out of 30 times I’ve been right. So, I’ll try to hold back longer next time.”What was the feeling on how Exum did on his time last week and how do you feel about him if he’s the guy on Sunday this week?“I mean, Exum’s here for a reason. I thought he got a lot better as the game went. I think he made some mistakes early in the game and I think once he played a little bit more I think it slowed down for him. From a physical standpoint, I thought he played fairly well just running. I thought he tackled fairly well. I thought he did good jobs in his coverage. I think it took him a little bit for the game to calm down for him as it did for a lot of our defense in the first half. But, I was definitely happy with how he finished.” Do you have any idea what to expect playing in a soccer stadium and potentially having a large contingency of 49ers fans there?“I don’t know. I’m actually very curious about it. I don’t think I’ve played in a situation like this. Hopefully it won’t be as loud as it was last week in Kansas City. If it is, we’ll have to deal with it.” You didn’t mention OL Mike Person on the injury report. Is he back to normal?“It depends on what you consider normal, but he’s good to go.”Live updates from Kyle Shanahan’s Week 4 Monday wrap-up press conference The San Francisco 49ers lost in Week 4 to the Los Angeles Chargers in C.J. Beathard’s first start of the season. It was a close loss, with Beathard putting up a strong effort, and the defense making some big stops amidst still inconsistent tackling. But the 49ers dropped to 1-3 and begin preparations for Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. The team returned to Santa Clara Sunday evening, and Monday is a day to wrap up the previous day’s game and begin preparations for the coming week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will meet with the media at 4 p.m. PT to discuss all that. The 49ers will stream the press conferences Twitter, Facebook, and the team’s app. The 49ers beat writers will also have updates from the media sessions. I’ve embedded our beat writer Twitter list so you can follow along. We’ll have a transcript later today.A Twitter List by NinersNation
  4. be picking up In-season moves are just as important to winning in fantasy football as the initial draft. There’s always more you can do to improve your roster Customized New York Giants Jerseys , so of course the waiver wire is always a busy place at the start of each week. Early in the season, there’s a lot of potential help that went undrafted and can help change a fantasy season. The players below are available in fewer than half of Yahoo/ESPN leagues, though I’ll try to keep those percentages a little lower for most players. I’ll also try to not repeat players, but if anyone from last week’s list — especially Will Dissly, Phillip Lindsey, or Geronimo Allison — are still available, grab them too.John Brown, WR, Baltimore RavensRostered - Yahoo: 26 percent | ESPN: 24.1 percentA healthy John Brown is really good and it looks like John Brown is healthy. Brown is only tied for second on the Ravens in targets (14) with Willie Snead, behind Michael Crabtree (16), but he’s the clear big play threat on the offense. He’s been the target on 35.8 percent on the team’s intended air yards, per Next Gen Stats, which is 15th among wide receivers. While Brown is the big play threat in an offense that’s now more willing to go down the field, Brown is also the top red zone target so far. Through two games Brown has been the intended target on four of Joe Flacco’s 13 red zone passes (30.8 percent) while no other Raven has more than two targets. There’s no reason for Brown to be rostered in just over a quarter of leagues.Ricky Seals-Jones, TE, Arizona CardinalsRostered - Yahoo: 27 percent | ESPN: 13.5 percentThere’s not a lot to like about the Arizona Cardinals offense right now. The coaching staff doesn’t even really seem to know what’s going on. In the same press conference on Monday, head coach Steve Wilks said the offense needed to be scaled down to be less complicated and they needed to be be more creative in getting David Johnson the ball. But Seals-Jones has been the “deep threat” in this offense. He leads the team with 23.9 percent of the team’s intended air yards, which is fifth-most among tight ends. He’s also second on the team in targets through two weeks, just behind Larry Fitzgerald. The Cardinals are likely to be in game situations when they have to pass often and while it’s a relative conservative offense right now, when they go deep, it’s to Seals-Jones. Arizona also has to run more than 47 plays per game throughout the season. He could also see an uptick in volume once Josh Rosen takes over at quarterback. Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay BuccaneersRostered - Yahoo: 35 percent | ESPN: 34.1 percentThe Buccaneers offense is on fire right now, but even while that’s not going to last on this pace www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com , there’s some good indicators for fantasy stability. One of the benefits of Todd Munkin taking over as the offensive play caller has been the ability to spread the ball around. DeSean Jackson has been getting all the deep targets and Mike Evans is still Mike Evans, but Chris Godwin has been able to play a significant role in the passing game as the No. 3.Tampa Bay hasn’t been in the red zone often — that happens when you’re scoring from 75 yards out — but Godwin is the only player on the roster with multiple red zone targets (two of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s seven passes) and they’ve both gone for touchdowns. Godwin is also getting his shots down the field, he has an aDOT of 14.1, which is second on the team behind Jackson. There’s a lot of weapons in Tampa Bay right now, but just about all of them have fantasy value.Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles ChargersRostered - Yahoo: 45 percent | ESPN: 43 percentEkeler got 11 carries and 77 rushing yards in Week 2. Some of that was due to Melvin Gordon being sidelined for some of the game due to injury. But Gordon hasn’t alway been consistently healthy in his career — 2017 was the first team in Gordon’s first three seasons in which he played in all 16 games. Even if Gordon is on the field, it’s been clear the Chargers want to have a role for Ekeler. In the red zone, Ekeler has two targets, two receptions, a receiving touchdown, and two rushing attempts. That puts him only behind Gordon in red zone opportunities. Ekeler is third on the team in targets, a role that should continue as the season progresses.Chris Ivory, RB, Buffalo BillsRostered - Yahoo: 5 percent | ESPN: 3.2 percentThe Buffalo Bills offense is bad, like really really bad. But fantasy football is about opportunity and Chris Ivory might have some of that real soon. LeSean McCoy has cracked rib cartilage and will be questionable for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. There’s really no reason for McCoy to push to play if he’s not near 100 percent. While a meeting with the Vikings isn’t a great matchup for an opposing running back, especially for a team that’s going to be trailing often, but if the starting job is there and you’re desperate at running back already, Ivory could be worth a look. How to watch Giants vs. Cowboys: Game time, TV channels, odds, live stream, radio, more It’s game day New York Giants T-Shirt , New York Giants fans! 5. The New York Giants initial 53-man roster http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/aldrick-rosas-jersey , one which could begin changing as soon as the waiver claiming period ends at noon on Sunday, is full of surprises. Including the fact that, for now, the Giants are keeping four quarterbacks.Let’s start with this from my Saturday afternoon Twitter mentions.Yes, umm, yes it does. Andrew Adams and Darian Thompson are out at safety. Chris Lewis-Harris, Leonard Johnson and Grant Haley are out at cornerback. Mark Herzlich, after years of seeming to hang on to his Giants career by a fingernail, is out. Roger Lewis Jr., whom we have been telling you for months was in trouble, is out. Giants roster cuts 2018: S Darian Thompson waived/injuredGiants roster cuts 2018: Linebacker Mark Herzlich reportedly releasedGiants roster cuts 2018: DL A.J. Francis among notable cutsGiants roster cuts 2018: Kalif Raymond out, Hunter Sharp likely punt returnerGiants roster cuts 2018: WR Roger Lewis, S Andrew Adams released“As I’ve said, I feel like we’re on the right track,” coach Pat Shurmur said in a statement released by the team. “We had a competitive training camp that forced us to make some tough decisions. We will continue to look to improve the roster in any way we can.“This day is never easy because you are dealing with people who have made a commitment to your program, and while we all understand the reality of the business we’re in, it doesn’t make it any easier. “When we started camp, I told the players that my hope for all of them is that if they don’t make our roster, I want them to make somebody else’s. So that’s my desire for the men we parted ways with today.”The Giants surprisingly kept all three backups for Eli Manning — Davis Webb, Kyle Lauletta and veteran Alex Tanney.Four undrafted rookies and first-year players (center Evan Brown, safety Sean Chandler, linebacker Tae Davis, and running back Robert Martin), plus defensive tackle Josh Banks, a second-year pro who was signed as a rookie free agent in 2017 and spent the entire season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The Giants can begin assembling a 10-man practice squad once at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, an hour after the waiver period expires.Let’s go through the full 53-man roster and offer some initial thoughts.OffenseQuarterback (4) — Eli Manning, Davis Webb, Kyle Lauletta, Alex TanneyValentine’s View: Quarterback intrigue marked the final half-hour or so before the 4 p.m. roster deadline. There had been speculation all day that the Giants might be trying to get something in exchange for Tanney. As the deadline approached, there was speculation that the Giants were working the phones trying to find a taker for one of their young quarterbacks, probably Webb.Even though Webb has been the No. 2 quarterback throughout camp, he wasn’t drafted by Shurmur and Dave Gettleman. He may also have more value than Lauletta right now because he is a second-year player. The roster will continue to evolve, and I can’t imagine that the Giants will keep four quarterbacks long-term. Something is going to give there.Running back (5) — Saquon Barkley, Wayne Gallman, Jonathan Stewart, Shane Smith, Robert MartinValentine’s View: For weeks we have been wondering if one of the Giants’ young running backs, probably former Rutgers Scarlet Knight Robert Martin, could play well enough to force the Giants to keep an additional running back. Turns out, that is exactly what happened. We had always wondered if the Giants would keep fullback Shane Smith. They did.Tight end (4) — Evan Engram, Rhett Ellison, Jerell Adams, Scott SimonsonValentine’s View: In my final 53-man roster projection I had Simonson making the cut. It makes sense purely because the Giants will be relying heavily on two-tight end sets in their offense. They are built to try to run, to try and control the clock with the run and the short passing game, then look for the home run ball. Simonson is a blocking tight end who might help them there.Wide receiver (5) — Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Cody Latimer http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/will-hernandez-jersey , Russell Shepard, Hunter SharpValentine’s View: What happened here is precisely what we thought was going to happen. Russell Shepard made the roster because of his ability to help on special teams and as a receiver. Roger Lewis Jr., obviously not a favorite of the new Giants regime, has been cut. Hunter Sharp won the competition with Kalif Raymond to be a return man/reserve wide receiver.Offensive line (9) — Starters: Nate Solder (LT), Will Hernandez (LG), Jon Halapio (C), Patrick Omameh (RG), Ereck Flowers (RT); Reserves: John Greco, Chad Wheeler, John Jerry, C Evan BrownValentine’s View: I figured nine offensive linemen were going to make the roster. I just didn’t figure Brown, the undrafted rookie free agent center from SMU, was going to be the ninth. After the trade of Brett Jones, though, it is logical because Brown is a pure center and the veteran Greco is a guard who can play center. I still believe this is an area where the Giants could look to free agency or the waiver wire in hopes of finding a veteran swing tackle. One of these backups, probably either Brown or Greco, might not be on the roster for long.DefenseDefensive line (5) — Starters: Damon Harrison, Dalvin Tomlinson, B.J. Hill; Reserves: Kerry Wynn, Josh BanksValentine’s View: Stunning. The addition of Banks to the roster rather than veteran defensive tackles A.J. Francis and Robert Thomas, both of whom I had making the roster, is one that came out of nowhere. I figured the Giants might choose between Francis and Thomas, but not cut both. And keeping Banks, a player who drew little attention during training camp or the preseason? Not sure anyone, including Banks, saw that coming. But, hey, having a guy on the roster with the last name Banks can’t be a bad thing, right?Linebackers (9) — Starters: Alec Ogletree, B.J. Goodson, Olivier Vernon, Kareem Martin; Reserves: Lorenzo Carter, Ray-Ray Armstrong, Connor Barwin, Tae Davis, Romeo OkwaraValentine’s View: Mark Herzlich’s surprisingly long run with the Giants is over. Calvin Munson is gone after a season. Not a real shock that Okwara made the roster. Shurmur has been praising him recently, and with Vernon’s status uncertain due to his ankle injury, Okwara could give them some pass rush presence. Davis played well in the preseason finale against the New England Patriots, but his addition to the roster is another of Saturday’s many surprises.Cornerbacks (4) — Starters: Janoris Jenkins, Eli Apple; Reserves: B.W. Webb, Donte Deayon, Valentine’s View: Whoa! You had the feeling all along that the Giants would be searching the waiver wire for help at corner, but I didn’t think the moves would be this extensive. Chris Lewis-Harris had seemed to play his way into a spot, but the Giants thought otherwise. They also moved on from veteran Leonard Johnson and undrafted rookie Grant Haley. I have to think Haley lands on the practice squad. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants use their No. 2 waiver wire priority to add to this position.Safeties (5) — Starters: Landon Collins, Curtis Riley; Reserves: Michael Thomas, William Gay, Sean ChandlerValentine’s View: More big changes. Darian Thompson waived/injured and Andrew Adams also sent packing. The Giants chose to keep the 33-year-old Gay and the undrafted rookie Chandler. They know what they are looking for http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/b.j.-goodson-jersey , and the skill sets of Thompson and Adams weren’t it. This is what happens when you go 3-13 and change regimes. I’m not sure I fully agree with cutting Adams, but he wasn’t James Bettcher’s cup of team and that’s that.Special teamsPlacekicker — Aldrick RosasPunter — Riley DixonLong-snapper — Zak DeOssieValentine’s View: No surprises. Rosas earned the placekicking job. I believe, though, that he will be on a short leash. Early struggles could send the Giants looking for a veteran upgrade. The second half of the season is going to be an important one for the New York Giants. They’re not pushing for a playoff spot, but these next eight games will help give a glimpse into what the Giants have heading into the 2019 season. While the defensive side of the ball will have a focus on what players will be there next year, the offense has the players (for the most part) and needs to focus on how to use the talent at hand better than it has been during the 1-7 start. Let’s look at some steps the Giants can take to get the offense on track in the second half.Figure out the offensive lineThere’s no other place an offensive breakdown can start than where the offense most often breaks down. The left side of the offensive line has not and likely will not change. Nate Solder is financially locked in as the left tackle and Will Hernandez is the legitimate bright spot on the line. Outside of those two spots, though, nothing has been good or consistent. Ereck Flowers was benched. Patrick Omameh was benched. Jon Greco might be on his way back to the bench. The Giants claimed guard Jamon Brown off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams last week. Brown is just 25 years old and started all 16 games from the Rams in 2017, but a suspension to start the season and good play from fill-in Austin Blythe made Brown expendable. Last season Brown played the most snaps (1,077), had the second-fewest blown blocks (18, three behind Andrew Whitworth’s 15 on 155 more snaps), and allowed just one sack, per the Football Outsiders Almanac. He might be in line to start for the Giants as early as Monday night against the 49ers. If that’s the case, it will be the the fourth different starting combination the Giants have used this season. It will also have three different starters than the Week 1 lineup. For a unit where continuity and communication are important, that’s not great turnover to have.2018 Giants OL startersWeekLTLGCRGRTWeekLTLGCRGRTBrown is on the last year of his rookie deal, so if he does play well and the Giants want to keep him, they’ll have to re-sign him. If that’s not the case, the Giants might still be looking for three new starters on the offensive line come the offseason. That won’t be an easier task than it was this past offseason.Any complaints about the running game also fall into this category.Get in motion, pick up the paceLast season with the Minnesota Vikings, Pat Shurmur used pre-snap motion to create mismatches with the defense. This season, that’s gone away. Per Sports Info Solutions charting, the Giants use pre-snap motion on the ninth-lowest percentage of plays in the league. But they also have the sixth-biggest difference between yards per play with motion and yards per play without it. This should be an easy element to add to the offense since it’s something they have used at times already and it’s something Shurmur used way more often in his last stop.If the Giants aren’t going to use motion to make defenses uncomfortable, then maybe they can start to use pace. As it stands right now, the Giants are one of the slowest teams in the league when it comes to the pace of the offense, per Football Outsiders. On situation neutral plays — basically non-garbage time — the Giants run the 28th quickest offense in the league. At any point in the game when the score is within six points either way, the Giants are the 32nd-fastest offense. When the deficit gets to seven points or more, the Giants turn into the league’s fifth-fastest offense and that is when the unit has been the most dangerous and done its most damage. Since the Giants don’t change personnel as much as expected, getting to the line quicker and using pace to create mismatches for the likes of Odell Beckham and Saquon Barkley would help. The Giants don’t have to turn into the Chip Kelly Eagles (though, Shurmur was that team’s offensive coordinator), but a combination of limited misdirection, whether it be play-action or pre-snap motion, and a slow pace is the exact opposite of what’s happening with the evolution of modern offenses.Reinvent the wheelSaquon Barkley’s role in the passing game has been underwhelming at best over the first half of the season. He’s still been more productive as a receiver than a runner (minus-3.78 Expected Points Added on the ground and 13.1 EPA on pass targets), but his receiving production could be even better. He’s consistently targeted as a check down option and only recently has he gotten more work past the line of scrimmage. The easiest way to get Barkley involved past the line of scrimmage and limit the time needed to pass block is the wheel route. By EPA, the wheel route is one of the most efficient routes in football and when done correctly out of the backfield it sets the running back up with a matchup that’s nearly impossible for the defense to win. What makes the wheel route so hard to defend is that the defense usually has a linebacker on the running back when it’s man coverage. The route starts like it’s going to be a flat route, which gets the opposing defender moving horizontally, and then the running back turns up the field. There aren’t going to be many linebackers who can go from lateral movement to chasing a back on a vertical route. There are fewer who would be able to keep up with an athlete like Barkley. On this play, the Rams used it inside the 10-yard line and got Todd Gurley on linebacker Anthony Barr. When Gurley got out of the backfield, Barr had to stop and try to read Gurley’s break, but there was none and Gurley was able to run past him up the seam for an easy touchdown. The wheel can work on its own at any part of the field, but it can be opened up even more when there’s a route combination with it from the receiver on the same side. Typically that’s a slant or hitch that creates a natural pick that adds an extra element the defender needs to get through on his path to the running back. The Carolina Panthers used this on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Devin Funchess ran a quick slant and turned to get in the way of the linebacker while Christian McCaffrey ran an uncontested wheel out of the same side and had a clear path to the end zone.Opposing defenses against the Giants will already be focused on the slant potential from Odell Beckham, so adding a layer to that with a Barkley wheel outside of it creates a dangerous combination that shouldn’t be able to be defended. On this note, the Giants should use more combinations with Beckham and Barkley on the same side of the formation, wheel or not.Getting Barkley more efficient targets will help open up the passing game for others (more than a good running game would). The ability to gain yards on quick passes is something the Giants have tried to accomplish, but getting those routes open past the line of scrimmage will be significantly more useful than the high volume of dump offs Barkley has seen in the passing game so far.

Hill Jersey , clear [NFL Weather]SB Nation websites: Turf Show Times (Rams), Silver and Black Pride (Raiders) Tyreek Hill was asked what goes through his head when a play breaks down and Patrick Mahomes is forced to improvise, and the Chiefs' wide receiver basically body-shamed his starting quarterback."When you see his slow behind roll out," Hill began, "or whatever he's doing, in my mind I go to, 'Alert! Alert! Alert! And I just have to get back to him and be around the ball."Now, there are a couple of things worth mentioning here: First, Hill's world-class speed makes just about everybody look slow, even a quarterback with better-than-average speed. And second, Hill calling his QB slow is just part of the innocent banter that goes on daily in the Kansas City locker room. These aren't the Chiefs of yesteryear, when veterans such as Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali and Alex Smith ruled the locker room. These bunch of Chiefs talk as much good-natured trash to each other as they do opposing teams, and the byproduct is a locker room that has grown remarkably close, and has been able to keep things light during a 4-0 start in which the spotlight has been bright.Need another example? Take Mahomes' unique voice. He's been chided about what coach Andy Reid called its "froggish" quality ever since Mahomes was in middle school. Mahomes long ago accepted it, and in truth he appreciates a good joke or imitation.Word in the locker room is Reid does it best, though he was unwilling to indulge during his weekly news conference.Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson also has a spot-on imitation, and tight end Travis Kelce — one of the longtime jokesters in the Chiefs locker room — is also quite good."I've heard the jokes since I was like, in the seventh grade," Mahomes said, "but it's something I've embraced. Kelce and Tyreek throw some shots at me, but I throw some shots right back."It's me. It's who I am. I'm never going to be insecure about it. Just embrace it and who I am."All these hijinks have helped the Chiefs deal with the pressure that comes with a perfect start, one that has the NFL buzzing. Three of their wins have come on the road Cheap Dalvin Tomlinson Jersey , including tough venues in Pittsburgh and Denver, and they appear to be the team to beat in the AFC West.Mahomes has thrown 14 TD passes without an interception, becoming not only the toast of Kansas City but a fantasy football darling everywhere.Kelce, Hill and newcomer Sammy Watkins have helped him flourish in an offense that seems predicated on fun, first and foremost, and running back Kareem Hunt is coming off his first 100-yard game, lest anybody think they can't go old-school.The result has been a crush of attention unlike anything the Chiefs have seen in recent years.Mahomes gets several hundred interview requests each week, and Kelce and Hill are bombarded when they go out in public. So many reporters and TV crews crammed in the club's tiny media room Wednesday that one openly pondered whether it was a violation of the fire code. You wouldn't know it from the way the Chiefs go about their business, though. Mahomes has a habit of locking himself in the film room, and nobody is trying to escape early when Friday rolls around."When you start to get in front of yourself in this thing, it's a humbling business," Reid cautioned this week. "You're playing the best in the world. You have to be sharp. There's not a lot of secrets anymore, so you really have to hone in and make sure you're on the top of your game, and it's not just me. It's everybody here, coaches and players alike."Keeping things light helps to accomplish just that. The latest subject of discussion had to do with whether Mahomes, a former prep basketball star, has enough ups to dunk. He insists there is video evidence showing him dunking during a high school game, and a grainy video surfaced on the internet that purportedly shows him poster-izing a defender."Pat cannot dunk, man," Hill insisted. "I had him in a celeb game this offseason. He tried to dunk a couple of times in warmups and clearly failed. That video is not Pat. That's some other kid."Let the trash-talk roll on.Notes: Safety Eric Berry (heel) remained the only Chiefs player out of practice Thursday. ... Special teams coach Dave Toub said the Chiefs are preparing for rain that is expected Sunday, when Kansas City plays Jacksonville. The forecast is calling for a 100 percent chance. "We had some chances to practice in rain in training camp," Toub said. "We'll do our wet-ball drills and we'll be ready."
  7. against the Jaguars Running back Rex Burkhead is battling a concussion and rookie Sony Michel has a knee injury http://www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com/authentic-phillip-dorsett-jersey , while Jeremy Hill is on the injured reserve. Wide receiver Julian Edelman is suspended and Chris Hogan was a ghost against the Houston Texans. Tight end Jacob Hollister is fighting an injury of his own.The New England Patriots need tight end Rob Gronkowski to have the game of his life against the Jacksonville Jaguars because there’s simply no one else to carry the offense.Who are the players that you can rely on producing in the Patriots offense this week? Phillip Dorsett had the game of his career against the Texans and it would be too much to ask him to elevate to another level of production this week; I’d be thrilled if he could come anywhere close to replicating it against A.J. Bouye or Jalen Ramsey. Maybe Hogan can have a rebound game and draw away some attention.James White can catch the ball out of the backfield, but that’s a tall order against Myles Jack and Telvin Smith. White isn’t a major threat to run the ball, which could make the Patriots offense one-dimensional and allow Jacksonville to drop extra players into coverage.Beyond those two- and maybe Hogan- there’s Cordarrelle Patterson, who is still developing a role in the offense; Dwayne Allen, who hasn’t been a big target in New England; ...and James Develin?Unless you want to heap a load of production on the recently signed Corey Coleman, Bennie Fowler Youth Lawrence Guy Jersey , or Kenjon Barner, or believe that this is the year that Matthew Slater breaks out as a receiver, then Gronkowski will be the centerpiece of the offense and more.Fortunately, Tom Brady and the Patriots trust Gronkowski to produce, no matter the circumstance.Gronkowski is dependable, when healthy http://www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com/authentic-trey-flowers-jersey , and he acknowledges that he and Brady have built their rapport through “a lot of practice, no doubt.” No one would be surprised to see Gronk erupt for a huge day, even if he’s covered by Ramsey or bracketed by the Jaguars linebackers and safeties.Gronkowski’s had 19 multi-touchdown games over the course of his career, but he’s exceeded 150 receiving yards just three times. He might have to combine those two milestones on Sunday.Last week, Gronkowski collected 7 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. He’ll have to do more than that to beat the Jaguars if the rest of the offense plays like they did in the opener. And they’ll have to be great to get a win in Jacksonville. The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are playing a close prime time contest early in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Patriots’ offense, it will likely have to survive the rest of the game without one of its starting offensive linemen: right tackle Marcus Cannon left the contest late in the third quarter and went to the locker room for what has since been announced as a head injury. The veteran Shaq Mason Jersey , who missed one game earlier this season due to an ankle injury, is questionable to return. Considering the nature of his injury, it would not be a surprise to see him have to sit out the remainder of the contest and be placed in the concussion protocol. Cannon hurt his head in a collision late in the third period and has since been replaced by veteran backup LaAdrian Waddle. While Waddle is a solid backup, he will have his hands full going agains the Chiefs’ top passer rusher, Dee Ford.
  8. http://www.patriotscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-stephon-gilmore-jersey , the Patriots claimed victory over the previously unbeaten Chiefs, 43-40. What everybody thought would be an explosive game was just that. This game had it all, from quick strikes to long drives. I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I want round two. I know we’ve got a long season still ahead of us, but how fun was that game? Here are four quick-hit thoughts about the contest:1. This was just a shootout, plain and simple. The defenses on both sides were less than stellar in this game. What worries me is the Chiefs we’re missing key contributors on their defense like Justin Houston and Eric Berry to name a few. In a likely match-up come playoff time they’ll be suited up while the Patriots defense got shredded in this game. 2. What the Patriots have going for them on defense is time. Where the Patriots defense wasn’t spectacular in this game the offense showed up in a big way. Leading the attack for the Patriots Tom Brady (340 yards, 1 TD) showed while at his age of 41 he’s still capable of doing what Brady does. I would describe the QB match-up as old Lion vs new Lion. Give the old Lion time on the clock with a chance and you can bet he’s gonna come through in the end.3. Speaking of new Lion: Sony Michel, he’s been outstanding of late. What a difference a few weeks makes around here. How can you not be impressed by what he’s accomplished in his rookie season so far? I’m not gonna go into the whole “he sucks,” that we all heard on Boston Sports talk. What’s the point in that when he’s doing his talking on the field? I think we’re all seeing a legitimate threat in the backfield to go along with Mr. Consistent James White. If the two complement each other well going forward this offense can become lethal.4. Something to keep a eye on this week will be the health of Marcus Cannon as the Patriots take on the Bears this week, who themselves have a pretty nasty defense – one much better than what the Patriots saw against the Chiefs. The right tackle will be closely monitored as Khalil Mack can wreak absolute havoc on you.I think after the game we all need to exhale Cheap Joe Thuney Jersey , and enjoy what we’ve got. With us being Patriots fans it goes with the territory of expecting a win, but make no mistake about it – despite the Chiefs’ playoff failures, they’ll be back. We always hear there’s a difference between regular season KC and playoffs KC. I think we just saw a preview of the AFC conference finals. What a wild season it’s been already, and we’re not even at the halfway point. I love this game and the Pats. As always you can follow me on Twitter @Chris_Blackey. Like I always say – Go, Pats!鉁 While the New England Patriots defense has had its fair share of issues so far this season, some players still stood out — at times at least. Stephon Gilmore is playing like one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks this season, Dont’a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy have made multiple big plays the last eight games, and Lawrence Guy has become a key cog in New England’s defensive machinery. One player, however, has arguably outperformed them all.Fourth-year man Trey Flowers is taking the next step in his already impressive career development this season and he is now one of the NFL’s dominant forces on the defensive edge. What makes the 25-year old so good Cheap Danny Shelton Jersey , is his sound performance against both the run and the pass. Rarely leaving the field, the former fourth-round draft pick has produced no matter the situation or alignment the coaching staff put him in.Through eight weeks, he has registered 2.0 sacks, six quarterback hits and 11 hurries, and also made 20 tackles against the run with a team-high five of which resulting in stops. As a result of his stellar play in both defensive phases, it is no surprise to see Flowers mentioned among the best players the league has to offer at his position. In fact, he is the first name that comes up when asking advanced analytics website Pro Football Focus. With an overall grade of 90.8 — consisting of an NFL-best 90.1 run defense grade and a 10th best 79.3 pass rushing performance — Flowers comes up on top in the latest defensive edge rankings. And while Pro Football Focus is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to analyzing and evaluating play, it is still nice to see the Patriots defender get some national recognition for his 2018 campaign so far. And there is still room for improvement, it seems. After all, Flowers’ pressure statistics would look even better if opposing passers did not get the football out as quickly as they did: overall Cheap James White Jersey , he has beaten the blocker lined up across from him 18 times without recording a pressure, the second-highest total in the league. If Flowers can trend just a bit towards the NFL’s mean, he should improve his pass rushing grade and more importantly become even more of an impact-player for the Patriots defense. No matter what you think of PFF and its grading system it is clear that New England has a star player on the defensive edge, one that will likely command top dollar if he reaches the open market next offseason. The Patriots would be smart to try to prevent this from happening. Of course, it always takes two to tango and at this rate Flowers’ potential wish for immediate security and loyalty to the club would likely be his main motivation to enter the negotiating table. One thing seems certain, though: Flowers will get paid one way or another.
  9. http://www.thepatriotsfootballauthentic.com/ryan-allen-jersey-authentic , and he clearly hasn’t been right for a few weeks, if at all this year. So what do the Patriots do with Gronk now? When healthy, he’s the best tight end in the game, and maybe the single most unstoppable player as well. But, he has a history of injuries lingering for him. Should the Patriots let him rest and try to heal and sacrifice now in an attempt to keep him healthy for the postseason?First off, this is why every other fan base hates us. The Patriots have played seven games and we’re already talking about what they should do in the playoffs. We’ve already penciled (more like sharpied) them in as the winner of the AFC East, and a contender in the AFC.Now, on to answering the question: I think the Patriots need to sit him out for as long as possible. I’m not sure what exactly that means in terms of how long he’s going to sit out, but there’s no reason to play him if he’s not healthy. New England’s offense continues to move the ball and score, even without his production. Add a healthy Gronk to what they already have on offense, and they’ll be nearly unstoppable. The biggest concern is the seeding. I know that Andy Reid’s teams almost always fall apart in the playoffs, but going to Arrowhead to play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game is not something that I’d be overly confident about. Then there is just getting the bye. Right now the Patriots have the second best record in the AFC, but the Steelers, Bengals Youth Stephen Gostkowski Jersey , Ravens, and Texans are all right behind them. It seems inconceivable that any of those teams will be able to catch them, but it’s at least worth remembering. If there’s even a chance that Gronk isn’t 100% for Monday night’s game in Buffalo, I don’t want him playing. Now, he is from Buffalo, and loves playing there, typically crushing the Bills, but I don’t care. Every year is the same in New England. If you don’t win the Super Bowl, the season is a failure. The last thing I want is Gronk running out of steam or being too hurt to be able to dominate in the playoffs.Yes, the Patriots have Edelman back, and they have Gordon now, but that’s even more of a reason to sit Gronkowski, in my opinion. You have a chance for a nearly unstoppable team with Brady at the helm. Don’t lose that because Gronk wants to hit some incentives during the regular season. Tell him you’ll pay him as if he reached everything if that will convince him, but do everything you can to make sure he’s healthy for the most important three games of the season. 10. unsigned Cleveland Browns rookies Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward are two of seven NFL rookies yet to have signed their rookie contracts. The Browns and their prized pair of top 4 picks are running out of time to avoid holdouts as the team will begin mandatory training camp practices this Thursday. Rookies and veterans are all required to report to Berea on Wednesday. On Sunday Cleveland Browns Hats , notable remaining unsigned rookies Saquon Barkley and Mike McGlinchey inked their deals, both including large signing bonuses. In fact, Barkley’s four-year deal is worth $31.2 million with $20 million guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. That makes him the fourth-highest paid running back in the NFL before he ever plays a snap.As WGN Radio’s Adam Hoge pointed out, to this point only rookie linebacker Roquan Smith’s delay is costing his team the rookie’s presence at training camp. Here’s a list of the seven remaining rookies have yet to sign:Browns, QB, Baker Mayfield (Pick No. 1)Jets, QB, Sam Darnold (Pick No. 3)Browns, CB, Denzel Ward (Pick No. 4)Bills Cleveland Browns Womens Hoodie , QB, Josh Allen (Pick No. 7)Bears, LB, Roquan Smith (Pick No. 9)Steelers, S, Terrell Edmunds (Pick No. 28)49ers, WR, Dante Pettis (Pick No. 44)These kinds of contract disputes rarely linger long enough to end up affecting players’ chances to participate in camps, let alone risk them missing any game action. Rookie contracts in the NFL are already “slotted” and pre-determined by the NFL rookie scale, so the main hiccups to these deals are usually related to offset language and signing bonus pay timing. Offset language refers to conditional contractual terms relating to players retaining their guaranteed rookie salary, even if released Womens Customized Cleveland Browns Jerseys , along with any salary they obtain from another team following their release. It usually comes into play when a player is injured or released in the fourth year of their rookie deal, one year before a team must choose whether to pick up the player’s fifth-year team option. Offset language helps teams release players without them being allowed to “double dip,” so to speak.Several rookies chose to forego hiring an agent this year, which seems to be a growing trend given the cookie-cutter NFL rookie salary negotiation process. You can bet Mayfield and Ward’s agents are working extra hard to prove their worth by getting the most out of the Browns prior to their clients signing on the dotted line. There’s no need for concern, yet, but there may be some upcoming discussions we’ll need to have in the coming days if these two star rookies remain unsigned as Wednesday draws closer. The Cleveland Browns traded wide receiver Josh Gordon to the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Patriots will also receive a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Browns announced the move on the team website. Thus ends one of the strangest tenures of a Browns player in franchise history.Cleveland selected Gordon in the 2012 Supplemental Draft after a troubled collegiate career that saw him be asked to leave from both Baylor and Utah. After a respectable rookie year, Gordon was hit with a two-game suspension by the NFL to open the 2013 season. He came back to post his lone good season as a pro, but what a season it was as he led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards. It all went downhill from there, however, as Gordon continued to run afoul of the league’s substance-abuse policy as he was suspended for 11 games in 2014 Baker Mayfield Jersey Elite , all of the 2015 and 2016 seasons, and the first 11 games of last season.Along the way there were numerous exclamations that Gordon was “back,” only for fans and the Browns to see Gordon’s career repeatedly interrupted. Gordon took a leave of absence from the team this past summer during training camp and returned in time to start the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he caught a touchdown pass on his only reception of the day.The Browns finally reached their breaking point with Gordon over the weekend when he showed up at team headquarters with a hamstring issue. The Browns made him inactive for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, announced they planned to release him and then worked out the trade with the Patriots. There are some Browns fans who will lament that the Browns decided to finally move on from Gordon, but it is hard to miss a player who has only been eligible for 41 of a possible 96 games in his career and has posted just 43 receptions and two touchdowns since 2013.The Browns, more than anyone else in the NFL, know what is going on with Gordon’s personal life and finally decided that six years was more than enough to wait around for him to show that 2013 was not just a fluke season. The team also supported Gordon to an extent that the NFL has likely never seen, as head coach Hue Jackson commented on when the trade was announced:Truer words may never have been spoken in the history of the NFL. Let’s recap the major storylines that were on display. The Return of Josh GordonIt was expected that the return of Browns WR Josh Gordon would be a major storyline in this week’s episode. And although he was featured a little bit, it was easy to forget about him. The most notable part was probably the cameras catching Gordon looking through the offensive playbook and saying that not many new plays had been added since he was last with the team, so he feels like he’s ready-to-go.The Rookie ShowCleveland’s rookies were in charge of putting on a filmed comedy/parody show of sorts for the rest of the players, coaches, and staff in Berea. The highlight of the segment was when WR Blake Jackson, a longshot who isn’t going to make the roster Cleveland Browns Hats , voiced over WR Jarvis Landry’s rant from a few weeks ago, complete with some other footage mocking the fact of playing with injury:Seeing GM John Dorsey laugh as QB Baker Mayfield parodied his sweater, gum-chewing, and other mannerisms was amusing as well.Tape it Up, Let’s GoHard Knocks captured a lot of audio and behind-the-scenes stuff when QB Tyrod Taylor hurt his hand against the Eagles and was led to the back. You can hear him screaming in pain as he enters the blue tent, and then his relief when X-rays are negative in the back. Once he tries catching a football once, he’s ready to go back out there.Haley Yells at Landry, Makes AmendsCleveland was frustrated offensively against the Eagles, and it was clear that it wasn’t the best day for WR Jarvis Landry. You can hear offensive coordinator Todd Haley riding Landry on several plays, including not fighting through on two fades at the goal line, and then stopping on a deeper route later (which Landry complained that the pass sailed out of bounds).Haley later had a complaint about the effort by young WR Derrick Willies. He pulled Landry aside and apologized to him for yelling earlier, while also giving him a pep talk about how he needs to give effort on every play so these younger guys see that and follow his lead. Earlier in the episode, we do see rookie WR Antonio Callaway taking the lead from Landry in the film room:Myles Garrett’s Music Isn’t for Bob WylieHard Knocks knows they have gold with offensive line coach Bob Wylie now, and they are milking it. It started with DE Myles Garrett getting to have some softer music play over camp...and then this:Other NotesThe beginning of the show talked about how things are starting to slow down for QB Baker Mayfield Cleveland Browns Hoodie , which included several slow-motion effects, as well as a super slow motion of a long spiral being thrown to WR Rashard Higgins. The segment was a bit of a waste to me.Former Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks gave the scoop on his former team, pointing out weaknesses of QB Nick Foles, TE Zach Ertz, and their left tackle:Segments once again featured QB Brogan Roback, DE Nate Orchard, DE Carl Nassib, and TE Devin Cajuste as the bubble players to watch. Next week will no doubt continue to focus on them and which of the four make it. Right now, Nassib could be the only way in line to keep a job.Overall, it wasn’t the most what I would call innovative episode in terms of buzz. What did you think, Browns fans? The season finale airs next Tuesday at 10 PM ET. NFL Outlet

"So they won."The longest ever kick in OT barely cleared the cross bar, ending Tampa Bay's three-game losing streak.Catanzaro missed an extra point in the first half and watched a potential game-winning 40-yard field goal sail wide right on the final play of regulation."I stuck to my same routine. The most important thing is not to try to change things too much," Catanzaro said. "I know I just left the first kick out there a little bit to the right, and I just needed to trust it. So, that's what I told myself."The Bucs recovered Jabrill Peppers' fumble on a punt return near midfield, and Jameis Winston shrugged off sacks on consecutive plays before throwing 14 yards to DeSean Jackson to give Catanzaro a chance to win it.The kicker was confident he would redeem himself."I think it's part of my DNA. I've always kind of found a way to bounce back," Catanzaro said. "I rarely miss two in a row. Even if it's from 59, I was just looking for a shot. If it was from 66, I would have tried it."Baker Mayfield rallied the Browns (2-4-1) from a 14-point deficit, using Nick Chubb's 1-yard TD and a 16-yard scoring throw to Jarvis Landry to pull even. The No. 1 overall draft pick completed 23 of 34 passes for 215 yards, two TDs and no interceptions. The Browns defense scored a safety, forced four turnovers and sacked Winston four times. It wasn't quite enough to get Cleveland over the hump in its fourth overtime game of the season."It's very frustrating any time you lose, especially because you could have done a lot of things better. That seems to be the moral of the season," Mayfield said http://www.authenticsclevelandbrowns.com/cheap-jamie-collins-jersey , adding that he also was surprised the Bucs went for the 59-yarder at the end."I'm thinking if he doesn't make it, we're getting the ball at midfield, we have less than 20 yards until our kicker is in comfortable reaching distance," the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner said. "That's a great kick. You don't see that very often."Some things to know about the Browns and Buccaneers:WORKING OTCleveland has played four overtime games this season — most for a team since Arizona won all four it played in 2011, and tied for second-most in NFL history. The record is five in a season, set by Green Bay in 1983.The Browns, 1-2-1 in OT this year, don't have a road victory since winning in overtime at Baltimore on Oct. 11, 2015.The Detroit Lions also dropped 24 in a row away from home from 2001-03.The next opportunity to end the skid is next Sunday at Pittsburgh.BETTER 'DTampa Bay stopped a three-game losing streak that cost former defensive coordinator Mike Smith his job last week. The Bucs entered Sunday allowing a league-worst 34.6 points per game, ranked 31st in total defense, and dead last against the pass. They sacked Mayfield five times and allowed a season-low 305 yards in their debut under Smith's replacement, former linebackers coach Mark Duffner."Every win is different, but this one felt good," defensive end Carl Nassib said.INCREASED WORKLOADCleveland's decision to trade leading rusher Carolos Hyde to Jacksonville for a fifth-round draft choice was driven by a desire to give rookie Nick Chubb more touches and also get Duke Johnson, one of the team's top playmakers, more involved.Chubb Youth Nick Chubb Jersey , who came in averaging 10.8 yards per carry, finished with 80 yards rushing on 18 attempts. He was targeted twice on passes, but did not have a catch."I thought he did well," Jackson said, noting the rookie also had one big gainer called back because of one of 14 penalties assessed the Browns."We had way too many penalties ... offensively and defensively," the coach said. "We have got to get that squared away."FAMOUS JAMEISWinston completed 32 of 52 passes for 365 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in his first home start since returning from serving a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct penalty. He also led the Bucs in rushing with 55 yards on 10 attempts, including a 14-yard TD run to make it 16-2 midway through the second quarter."It's huge to get a big win, especially here (at home)," Winston said. "This is a tough league, so you get a win any way you possibly can get it. We can play better, especially myself. But when you win, everything is better." The Philadelphia Eagles won't have time to dwell on another loss.Kirk Cousins and Linval Joseph helped the Minnesota Vikings beat the Eagles 23-21 Sunday in a rematch of last season's NFC championship game featuring two teams struggling to find an identity.Carson Wentz and the rest of the struggling Eagles (2-3) have a short turnaround this week and get a chance to snap a two-game losing streak on Thursday night at the New York Giants (1-4)."Getting back on the field is a good remedy," coach Doug Pederson said.Cousins threw for 301 yards and one touchdown, and completed 30 of 37 passes to become the first player in NFL history with at least 30 completions in four consecutive games. His strong performance prevented the Vikings (2-2-1) from falling into last place in the NFC North."I thought he made some unbelievable throws," Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. " ... He made big White Seth DeValve Jersey , big plays."Nick Foles led the Eagles to a 38-7 rout over Case Keenum and Minnesota's top-ranked defense in the NFC title game nine months ago on his way to earning Super Bowl MVP honors against New England. The Vikings made all the key plays this time around.Joseph snatched Wentz's fumble out of the air and rumbled 64 yards for a touchdown to give the Vikings a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. Stephen Weatherly knocked the ball loose and Wentz couldn't recover to catch Joseph from behind after the strip-sack."I consider myself an athlete but I feel everyone got a chance to see that I am faster than what I look," the 330-pound Joseph said.Cousins tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Adam Thielen to extend the lead to 17-3 at halftime.Eric Kendricks forced Jay Ajayi to fumble at the Vikings 5 on the first drive of the third quarter."I do think it meant a lot to them as a defense," Cousins said. "They have a lot of pride in their work. They put on a great performance today."Here's some things we learned from Minnesota's victory over Philadelphia:SLOPPY EAGLESThree illegal formation penalties on the receivers were just a part of the slew of mistakes the Eagles made. Mental blunders have cost the team throughout the first five weeks. Pederson tried to accept the blame but the players held themselves accountable."Everybody has to take a long look in the mirror," All-Pro center Jason Kelce said. "Last year we played smart football, we played as a unit, we were in sync and we won football games."DYNAMIC DUOThielen had seven catches for 116 yards and one TD. He has at least 100 yards in all five games. Stefon Diggs caught 10 passes for 91 yards. Cousins credited offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, who was Philadelphia's quarterbacks coach the past two seasons."I think Coach Flip is giving Stef and Adam the opportunity to make those plays," Cousins said. "The game plan is giving them a chance. I'm calling plays and going to the line of scrimmage with the belief that they are going to get the football."ROUGHED UPEagles defensive end Michael Bennett was called for a roughing penalty to negate his sack on Cousins. It appeared he hit Cousins on the upper thigh, held his legs and let go as the quarterback fell backward. Cousins threw a TD on the drive."He went low into the quarterback's knees with his shoulder, with force," referee Walt Coleman told a pool reporter.STAYING CLEANCousins was only sacked once, even though Philadelphia's defensive line entered the game with a strong advantage over Minnesota's offensive line, which lost left tackle Riley Reiff to a foot injury."I was proud of the offensive line for only allowing one sack today," Cousins said. "I thought that was very impressive to play the game that they played."BAILED OUTAfter hitting the upright on a 28-yard field goal and missing wide on a 45-yarder, Dan Bailey nailed a field goal from 52 yards out to extend Minnesota's lead to 23-14 late. 13. fell apart in May when the victim Womens Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, recanted her claims against the then San Francisco 49ers linebacker.Ennis, still involved with Foster despite the prior incident, was again the focal point of this weekend’s incident with Foster that resulted in his release from the 49ers. However, one key aspect appears to be different this time around.According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, Ennis intends to participate in the investigations against Foster stemming from Saturday night’s incident at a Tampa hotel.鈥淲e are moving forward,鈥?said Adante Pointer, a lawyer who is representing Foster’s accuser. 鈥淪he will participate in the process.鈥滷oster was claimed off waivers by the Washington Redskins on Monday and placed on the Commissioner Exempt list as the league investigates the charges against him from this weekend.Foster had been accused of leaving her bruised and with a ruptured ear drum following a February incident in Los Gatos http://www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com/marquise-goodwin-jersey-authentic , Calif. He was charged with one felony for that violent act, another felony for forcefully attempting to prevent the victim from reporting the crime, and a third felony for possessing an assault weapon. Foster is also charged with a misdemeanor for possessing a large capacity magazine. After Ennis recanted the domestic violence claims, Foster pleaded no contest to a weapons charge and an additional marijuana charge led to Foster being suspended for the first two games of the season. That Bears game is no gimmie Week 2 is a wrap and with Monday Night Football we got a good glimpse of two San Francisco 49ers opponents in the Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Bears. The Bears dominated the Seahawks for the entire game beating them 24-17. That score does not demonstrate how much the Bears controlled this game, despite their offensive miscues throughout. The Seahawks need no introduction being a division rival that has been a thorn in the 49ers side for years. They always play the 49ers hard no matter what the talent level of the team is. Except now, that talent looks deprecated. The Seahawks were dominated in the first three quarters of the game, with a 4th quarter touchdown pass making things interesting. Even with multiple interceptions of Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky the Seahawks offense looked bad. Russell Wilson couldn’t shake defenders like he usually could, getting sacked numerous times Womens DeForest Buckner Jersey , and throwing a pick-six to put the game out of reach. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears won the Khalil Mack trade and may no longer be a cute team that may surprise a few people. With Vic Fangio calling a defense out of his mind and having the talent to do so, the Bears are now a team with a defense no offense wants to run into. Originally, I and others had the Bears penciled in as an easy win, not now. Especially with that 49ers offensive line. If the Seahawks, who have one of the worst offensive lines in football suffer six sacks, the 49ers offensive line could have its own issues as well. Plus, while Jimmy Garoppolo is far more mobile than he’s given credit for Youth Brock Coyle Jersey , he’s not Russell Wilson. This could lead to more hits than anyone would want him to take. The Bears offense is nothing special, but neither is the 49ers defense until proven otherwise. It sets up for what should be a rather fun game depending on how fast Garoppolo can get the ball out. And the 49ers better hope that quick release comes in handy, because the Bears are going to be blasting past that line in no time. For those of us who had the 49ers penciled in for an easy win, time to look at that decision. The Bears are much better and it’s because of that pass rusher they got in exchange for not much.
  14. 49ers released their unofficial Week 6 depth chart for Monday Night Football vs. the Green Bay Packers http://www.49ersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-fred-warner-jersey , and plenty will change. The team is dealing with an assortment of injuries, and head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged they are looking at some reserve options at several positions. The team got things going by signing running back Matthew Dayes to the practice squad, and working out five running backs. They also brought Jack Heneghan back in for a tryout, per NFL reporter Howard Balzer. He spent 2018 training camp with the team, so it might have been more just getting on the same page to see where he’s at physically being out of football the first five weeks of the season. If the 49ers sign Heneghan, it will be to the practice squad. The 49ers have a couple days to sort through what they want to do next. Since they are playing on Monday instead of Sunday, their first practice is not until Thursday. Any outside additions will happen by then, while practice squad promotions will not happen until the weekend. They don’t have a lot of spots to clear players, which could leave defensive end Ryan Delaire potentially on the outside looking in. The 49ers promoted him this past week to help with the pass rush, and he was active over interior defensive tackle D.J. Jones. Delaire had 10 snaps on the day, and one has to wonder how the 49ers want to approach the pass rush against Aaron Rodgers. Here’s a look at where the depth chart stands as of Wednesday morning. We’ll likely find out on Thursday if the team is going to sign any outside options. If nobody signs by Thursday Solomon Thomas jersey , then we wait for the weekend and any practice squad promotions.49ers offensive depth chart, Week 6 vs. PackersPositionFirstSecondThirdPositionFirstSecondThird49ers defensive depth chart, Week 6 vs. PackersPositionFirstSecondThirdPositionFirstSecondThird49ers special teams depth chart, Week 6 vs. PackersPositionFirstSecondThirdPositionFirstSecondThirdAaron Rodgers might do just a little bit more damage to the 49ers than Josh Rosen The San Francisco 49ers defense had a fairly solid performance on the stat sheet in Week 5. Although the 49ers lost 28-18 to the Arizona Cardinals, it was offensive woes that were the primary culprit. The defense held David Johnson to 55 yards (3.1 yards per carry), while Josh Rosen completed only 40 percent of his throws. Aside from the 75-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk, it was not a particularly good day for Rosen and the Cardinals offense.Pro Football Focus has finalized their grades and stats for Week 5, and it confirms a lot of what we knew about Rosen’s performance. The rookie completed 40 percent of his passes, which was last among all starting quarterbacks last week. His adjusted completion percentage was 56.5, also last among starting quarterbacks. PFF’s adjust completion percentage accounts for dropped passes, throw aways Authentic Ahkello Witherspoon jersey , spiked balls, batted passes, and passes where the QB was hit while they threw the ball. It does not give us a clear picture on accuracy, but it offers a little more context.Coaches film will be available later this week, but in the meantime, Rosen’s accuracy should have cost the Cardinals the game. The 49ers got some solid coverage from their cornerbacks, but there were quite a few instances where Rosen overthrew an open receiver. Some of the passes would have required particularly good touch on the pass, but there were numerous instances where the higher end quarterbacks would have probably connected — or at least given their receiver a better chance at making a play on the ball.Which brings us to Week 6. The 49ers travel to face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Rodgers has never been tops among the most accurate quarterbacks in the league, but he aside from 2015 when he completed 60.7 percent of his passes, his completion percentage is consistently above 64 percent. He is currently completing 63 percent of his passes, and ranks 13th in adjusted completion percentage (77.2).Rodgers will have his share of overthrows and missed opportunities Youth DeForest Buckner jersey , but it’s safe to say he is more likely to make the 49ers pay for mistakes. The Packers entered Week 5 with the eighth worst offensive line in adjusted sack rate. When pressured, Rodgers ranked 35th in completion percentage, 25th in deep ball accuracy, and 23rd in NFL quarterback rating.Suffice to say, it will be absolutely critical that the 49ers find ways to get pressure on Rodgers. Blitzes won’t be the only way to do that, because Rodgers will adjust. But they need to keep him off balance and keep this Packers offense from getting into gear. It’s been an up and down year for the Packers offense, but they face a 49ers defense that has been inconsistent at best this season. The 49ers will have some roster consistency this week for the first time in a while, but it will take more than that for this defense to contain Aaron Rodgers & Co.

He finished out the game http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-joe-staley-jersey , but is currently struggling to hold a football, so he is sitting out the team’s Tuesday walkthrough. Kyle Shanahan said Beathard is likely a game day decision.Beathard met with the media after Shanahan and said he is hopeful he can play on Thursday. He said he “kinda messed up” his thumb and wrist, but neither is broken. If Beathard cannot play on Thursday, backup Nick Mullens would get the start and Tom Savage would serve as his backup. Mullens has been active but not played each of the past five weeks since Jimmy Garoppolo went down with his torn ACL. He spent all last season on the practice squad http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-pierre-garcon-jersey , which gives him a little over a year and a half learning Kyle Shanahan’s system.Shanahan said that if Savage ever had to enter the game in place of Mullens, the playbook would be pared down significantly. The 49ers first signed Savage on October 16th. He was released that same week, but then brought back when Adrian Colbert went on injured reserve. So basically, he has two weeks of playbook study under his belt. All that being said Cheap Solomon Thomas Jersey , I expect Beathard to play on Thursday. We’ll find out for sure with the wrist injury, but it would be slightly surprising to me if he did not play. That’s not to say I don’t want to see Mullens out there. Given the state of the season, the masochist in me wants to see it. The 49ers placed defensive back Jimmie Ward on injured reserve. For the second consecutive season, a broken forearm has ended his season. Ward’s rookie contract expires at the end of the season 49ers Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , making him a free agent in March. The 49ers claimed defensive back Godwin Igwebuike off waivers from the Buccaneers. The Bucs waived Igwebuike after he spent two weeks on the 53-player roster. He played 12 snaps on special teams two weeks ago against the Giants before Tampa Bay listed him among its inactives Sunday. Igwebuike, an undrafted free agent from Northwestern, spent the first 10 weeks on Tampa Bay鈥檚 practice squad. The 49ers also promoted linebacker James Onwualu to the active roster from the practice squad. They did not need another corresponding move after cutting linebacker Reuben Foster on Monday.Onwualu originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, signing with the Chargers. He appeared in nine games and made nine special teams tackles last season with the Chargers.Los Angeles waived him Aug. 26 49ers Mike Person Jersey , and he joined the 49ers’ practice squad on Nov. 19.
  16. Saturday everyone Womens Landon Collins Jersey , and welcome to week five of the college football season! Last week we had several intriguing quarterback matchups and decided to focus on them. This week there are good matchups that feature players from a variety of positions, including some offensive linemen and defensive backs — two positions the New York Giants should be scouting heavily this year. But why sit around here talking? Let’s dive in.(12) West Virginia vs. (25) Texas Tech ESPN 2 - NoonThis game will likely be a track meet. Both teams feature wide-open air raid offenses and little regard for the defensive side of the ball. If you like watching points being scored and yards being racked up like numbers on a pinball table, this could be the game for you. The prospect everyone will be watching is WVU quarterback Will Grier. On the LSU side of things, they feature some of the top defensive backs in college football, headed by superbly-named cornerback Greedy Williams. Barkley has been able to break a big play, but the Giants also have the fourth-highest rate of runs that have gained negative yards. He’s fifth in the league in touches and seventh in yards from scrimmage.Barkley is second in Football Outsiders’ rushing DYAR and sixth in DVOA, while the Giants’ offensive line ranks 31st in adjusted line yards and averages just 2.0 rushing yards before contact. His standard success rate, which uses the percentage of yards needed that were gained, is 43 percent per Football Outsiders, which ranks 23rd among 38 running backs with at least 32 carries. Barkley’s success rate by EPA — the percentage of runs that have positive expected points added — is just 35.6 percent.Through four weeks, the repeated sentiment from the offseason has held true — Barkley has been excellent, but it doesn’t matter without other pieces of a functional offense. He has at least 100 yards from scrimmage in all four games this season, but those yards haven’t been able to spark the offense single-handedly. Barkley’s win probability added totals negative-8.6 percent on running plays and just 3.9 percent on passing plays. He’s been worth minus-2.21 expected points added on the ground just 2.0 through the air.One place where Barkley’s usage could continue to improve is how he’s used in the passing game. If he’s used more in the slot or the outside or even just in front of the line of scrimmage, he could be put in more space to do more damage. Over half of Barkley’s targets have come behind the line of scrimmage and 83 percent of his targets have come no further than two yards down the field. That’s fine for a normal running back, but Barkley wasn’t drafted to be a normal running back. Instead of running the ball with Barkley on first down, throw it to him. These issues aren’t the fault of Barkley, but they come with trying to get the most efficient use out of a running back picked second overall. Will HernandezHernandez has gotten better each week. He was at fault for some of the pressures against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, but that could be said of all five offensive linemen who played in that game. Hernandez was expected to be a force in the run game, and that’s come already. Per Sharp Football Stats, Barkley’s highest success rate has come running behind the left guard.source: Sharp Football StatsThis holds up by EPA, too. Among the run gaps, Barkley only has positive EPA behind the right and left guards. But he’s been much better behind the left guard — eight carries, 6.1 EPA (0.76 average), and 62.5 percent success rate — than right guard — 10 carries Womens Jon Halapio Jersey , 1.17 EPA (0.12 average), and 40 percent success rate. But where he’s really developed is in the passing game, a welcome addition to a line that desperately needed it. Hernandez has been able to use his strength to keep defenders away from the quarterback, but his situational awareness has also been an important factor to his early success. He never looks lost on a play, again a welcome trait along this line.Take this play here against the Saints this past week. There’s pre-snap communication between Manning, Hernandez, center John Greco, and left tackle Nate Solder. They recognize a blitz is probably coming from No. 24 and they adjust the protection for it. At the snap, Hernandez kicked to his left — where two rushers are likely to come from, and they do — but he also prepared himself to adjust in case the defensive tackle to his right came at him. Still, he was able to take the defensive end who looped to him and kept him away from the quarterback. It’s something relatively simple — having clear communication and knowing the assignment — but there’s a low bar to be judged against for this offensive line. Though even without grading on a curve, Hernandez has continued to be excellent. Lorenzo CarterLorenzo Carter has been given a bigger role than previously expected because of the injury to Olivier Vernon through the first four weeks of the season. Carter has played 40.6 percent of the defensive snaps as the No. 3 edge rusher behind Kareem Martin and Connor Barwin.Carter has always been a good athlete — he had the No. 2 speed score and was No. 1 in SPARQ among this year’s class of edge rushers — but he hasn’t always been able to translate that athleticism into production. That was the case in college when he had just 14.5 sacks in four years and it still remains something to work on in the NFL.At Georgia, Carter had a role that was more of a traditional linebacker who could rush the passer. But so far with the Giants, Carter has transitioned to full-time edge rusher — he has just three snaps in coverage against the pass this season. When Carter can use his speed, good things can happen.Against the Houston Texans, Carter had a pressure by lining up in a wide-9 technique, running full speed at right tackle Julie’n Davenport and flushing Dashaun Waston out of the pocket. He got his lone sack of the season by fighting Davenport to the outside, then beating him around the edge. But there are still times when he doesn’t really have a move and can easily be stopped by an opposing tackle like he was in many cases against the New Orleans— here against Ryan Ramczyk.Carter is second on the team with three quarterback hits and he’s already matched his four-year college total with one pass breakup. He wasn’t supposed to get this much time on the field this early and we’ll see how or if his role changes with the return of Vernon, but there have been signs of development in this time with room for much more. B.J. HillThroughout training camp, Hill was a breakout star. He was treated as a clear-cut starter in the preseason and played limited snaps. He hasn’t really been given that role in the regular season http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/b.j.-hill-jersey , though. Through four games, he’s played just 32.8 percent of the defensive snaps. But, Hill has made an impact when he’s on the field. He leads the team with two sacks — one each of the past two weeks — and he’s done it from the interior and the edge. He also moves extremely well for a 300-plus pound lineman. Against the Saints, he got his sack when he and Dalvin Tomlinson were 2-on-1 against the center which eventually gave Hill a clear run to Drew Brees. It wasn’t beating a blocker like his sack on the edge against Houston, but there are not many interior defenders who would have been able to close on Brees as Hill did.Like Carter, Hill could see his playing time decrease even more with the addition of Josh Mauro, who is returning from a four-game suspension. But while that scenario could help Carter with his development, Hill has already shown he should be getting more playing time than what he’s already been given. The othersKyle Lauletta, the Giants’ fourth-round pick, has not been on the active game day roster yet, so he’s no immediate threat to take over at quarterback. But should the Giants continue to struggle on offense, it would not be a surprise to see him get a look during the second half of the season.Fifth-round pick R.J. McIntosh has been on the reserve/non-football illness list since the beginning of September. He likely won’t see any action until 2019.Sean Chandler, an undrafted rookie safety out of Temple, was a surprise player to make the roster out of training camp. He’s only been in on one defensive snap (he made a tackle) but has played over half of the team’s special teams snaps.Tae Davis, an undrafted linebacker out of Tennessee-Chatanooga, has not seen the field on defense, but has played on 36 special teams snaps.
  17. have three new faces on the roster as they try to beat the Falcons. The team announced a series of roster moves on Tuesday. They moved two players — wide receiver Cody Latimer and linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong — to injured reserve and waived cornerback Donte Deayon.Latimer Cheap Will Hernandez Jersey , who signed with the Giants as a free agent, has a hamstring injury. He had six catches for 108 yards in four appearances. His spot in the receiver group will be taken by a former Broncos teammate as the Giants have signed Bennie Fowler. Fowler had 56 catches for 698 yards and five touchdowns in Denver over the last three seasons and failed to make the Bears this summer.Armstrong, who has a concussion, had 20 tackles for the Giants this year. Deayon had six tackles in four appearances. Linebacker Ukeme Eligwe and cornerback Grant Haley were promoted from the practice squad. Not a lot has gone right for the New York Giants in their much-ballyhooed rebuild of the offensive line.High-priced left tackle Nate Solder hasn’t played up to the level of the four-year, $62 million contract he signed. Free-agent right guard Patrick Omameh (three years, $15 million) played his way to the bench. The player the Giants counted on to be their starting center, Jon Halapio, went down in the season’s second game with a broken right ankle.Ereck Flowers bombed at right tackle Cheap Eli Manning Jersey , got benched and then released. Chad Wheeler hasn’t been any better.Did Giants’ GM Dave Gettleman do anything right in this rebuild other than select guard Will Hernandez in Round 2 of the 2018 NFL Draft?Well, moving on from Weston Richburg was apparently a good decision. That was the opinion of Oscar Aparicio, host of the ‘Better Rivals’ podcast for SB Nation’s San Francisco 49ers website, Niners Nation. Richburg, of course, signed a five-year, $47.5 million contract ($28.5 million guaranteed) with the 49ers during the offseason. The Giants and 49ers play Monday night, and Aparicio joined the show to talk about that upcoming game.“If there is a weakness on the offensive line unfortunately it’s really at center. Weston Richburg was a big free-agent signing for the 49ers and so far this season he’s not performed in the way that you would expect for the kind of marquee signing that I think we were getting http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-riley-dixon-jersey ,” Aparicio said.“I thought, honestly, we were getting little bit of value with Richburg because when he was not injured he was playing at a very, very high level. I thought, OK, maybe he was injured and that’s why he wasn’t playing well the last kind of year and some change that he was with New York, but he’s not performed super-duper well.”San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said Richburg has “added a ton” to his team.“He’s been as good a center as I’ve had, he’s been one of the main reasons I believe we’ve been able to run the ball as well as we have had this year despite our injuries Cheap Sterling Shepard Jersey ,” Shanahan said. “He’s battled through the last few weeks, battling some injuries, and he’s missed one game but he’s been out there playing through some stuff. Guys love him here and he’s really helped us.”Whatever you believe the Pro Football Focus grades to be worth, here they are. Richburg is PFF’s 36th-ranked center with a 55.4 overall grade. He has allowed two sacks and 19 pressures. In small sample sizes, Halapio (69.4) and Pulley (63.1) grade higher. Greco (56.0) grades out roughly equal while splitting time between center and guard. The trio has allowed four sacks and 23 pressures. Combined, they earn $2.2 million in base salary this season. Throw in the $480,000 being earned by rookie Evan Brown and the Giants are spending $2.68 million on the center position this season.Aparicio told us that Richburg “hangs out in that average area” among NFL center, and the numbers would seem to back up that assertion. “I think that you probably made the right move to not pay him a ton of money if you can get someone to perform at that average level on a much cheaper contract Cheap Saquon Barkley Jersey ,” Aparicio said. Also on today’s showAparicio and I discuss the reasons for the negativity surrounding the 1-7 Giants vs. the more positive atmosphere around the 2-7 49ers.We talk about the Nick Mullens phenomenon.I address the Kyle Lauletta situation, including a brief clip of Lauletta speaking to media on Tuesday.I talk about the Giants’ hopes for new offensive lineman Jamon Brown.Where to subscribeYou can find and subscribe to Big Blue View Radio on the show’s home page. 18. the Giants’ quarterback after the trade deadline.“Yes www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com , I do. I think Eli will be our quarterback,” Shurmur said on a conference call with beat reporters. “He has been, and he鈥檒l continue to be here.”The Giants dealing Manning before next week’s trade deadline isn’t happening, no matter how much Giants fans wish for it. First, Manning has a no trade clause in his contract that “he almost certainly isn’t waiving,” according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. Manning has said he plans to end his career with the Giants. He repeated that Tuesday on WFAN 660.“I haven’t thought about the trade scenario and hey, this organization is the only team I played for and only thing I know,” Manning said on the radio, via Art Stapleton of northjersey.com. “I love the Giants. It’s hard to imagine being with another organization.”Second, who would trade for a 37-year-old Manning? He is 4-18 since the start of the 2017 season, with 26 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Even Jacksonville, where Tom Coughlin now resides and finds his Jaguars in desperate need of a quarterback, reportedly has no interest.Third, who are the Giants going to play instead? Rookie Kyle Lauletta?Yes, Manning will remain with the Giants after next week’s trade deadline. The question is: Do they turn to Lauletta at some point during the season?Manning sounds as if he plans to remain the Giants’ starting quarterback beyond just next week.“I still feel like we’ve got a lot left in this team,” Manning said.Giants at Panthers staff picks, predictions: Does anyone believe in the Giants? Can the 1-3 New York Giants, badly in need of a victory, upset the 2-1 Carolina Panthers on the road Sunday? Let’s see what your Big Blue View staff writers believe.Chris PflumCan the Giants pull off the upset? That’s the question with which we’re all faced. The answer to that is, “of course they can.” This is football, and anything can happen on any given Sunday. But will they? Well, that is an entirely different question. The answer to that New York Giants T-Shirt , to me, comes down to which Giants team we see take the field against the Carolina Panthers. All week long we have tried to figure out what is wrong with the Giants’ offense. The Giants’ scheme itself isn’t a sorry, broken thing like what Ben McAdoo fielded, but the result has been little different from the previous two years. The opportunities have been there for plays down the field, but too often they have been passed up for safer options — or the safer option was taken before the bigger play could be made — unless the team was desperate. Far, far too often, the Giants have played offense like a team frightened of losing, rather than playing like a team bent on winning. The discussion has gone back and forth, whether it is the fault of Eli Manning — the quarterback making the decisions — or Pat Shurmur for coaching the offense this way. But at this point, at 1-3 with their season already on life support, it doesn’t matter. Either Shurmur needs to coach to win or Eli needs to rediscover some of the “gunslinger” he had before McAdoo arrived and he had to adapt to a conservative West Coast Offense. I do believe both are capable of it. Despite all the pessimism that has already built up, we have seen sparks of that old Eli in this offense, and we have seen this offense attack defenses in Minnesota without the plethora of talent it currently has. If that offense comes out of the tunnel in Carolina, they can win and it wouldn’t even be an upset, because they can be so much better than they have shown. But will they? So far we’ve only seen that only sparingly, and that isn’t enough to inspire confidence from me. Panthers win.Final score: Panthers 27, Giants 20Season record: 1-3Dan PizzutaThe key to the Giants success is of course going to be what the offense looks like. The Carolina defense hasn’t been the top-10 unit it’s been in the past, but it’s still in the top-10 in a few places on defense. The Panthers rank eighth in DVOA against opposing No. 1 receivers, sixth against No. 2 receivers, and ninth against running backs in the passing game. Those just happen to be where the Giants are good on offense. The weaknesses in the Panthers’ pass defense — 22nd against “other” wide receivers and 30th against tight ends — just aren’t places the Giants can exploit right now. What we’ll see — rather quickly, probably — is whether the Giants think they need to take downfield shots or if they’re content with the short passes they’ve gone with for the first four weeks. The Carolina defense ranks 30th in big play rate allowed, so this would be the time to take some shots. But the Panthers will also have Eric Reid at safety New York Giants Hats , which is an upgrade to the back end of their secondary. On the other side of the ball, it’s all about stopping Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey, which the Giants haven’t really shown they can do. The Giants are surprisingly eighth in DVOA against opposing running backs in the passing game, and while they held Alvin Kamara to 47 receiving yards last week, they let him run for 134. Between play-action and option plays, the Panthers are going to use a lot of deception to open up big plays. Once they get into the open field, it’s anyone’s guess if they get tackled. Curtis Riley is tied for fifth among defensive backs with four missed tackles — a 22.2 percent rate — and quietly Alec Ogletree is tied for third among all defenders with five broken tackles for a 31.2 percent rate. Newton and McCaffrey aren’t easy to bring down when the defense has a good angle. Without it, it’s almost impossible. Final score: Panthers 27, Giants 17Season record: 3-1Fanpulse PicksGiants fans at Big Blue View think the Giants will lose by 1.Eagles fans at Bleeding Green Nation think the Eagles will win by 5.Patricia TrainaFool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...Okay, so you know how the old saying goes. When I see this Giants team, I see a group that has a lot of talent but for whatever reason is just not coming together like a lot of us (okay, me) thought they would by this point in the season.Head coach Pat Shurmur and the players continue to preach patience. They continue to insist they’re getting closer. I’m sorry but we heard the getting closer line a lot last year only to have our hearts broken week in and week out. I do believe that the Giants are on the right track, but I also think they have a long way still to go before everything comes together. They’ve yet to show the can handle the zone read with any consistency, and after seeing how Alvin Kamara hurt them last week, I shudder to think what Chirstian McCaffrey is going to do.Final score: Panthers 28, Giants 20Season record: 1-3Joe DeLeoneLuck was not on the side of the Giants this season. This early stretch of the year has been rough, especially because of the talented teams they have had to face. It does not help they have to take on another NFC South contender this Sunday.Facing the Panthers is not what the Giants needed to overcome a rough first quarter of the season. Despite having a good opportunity to put out a good offensive showing, a win does not appear in the Giants’ future. The most daunting part of this match up is the Panther run game. Coming in with a league best 166 rush yards per game, it is hard to imagine the G-Men will stand much of a chance. The double headed monster of Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey will prove to be too much for this Giants defense that has struggled mightily to stop the run. Last week they faced a similar running back who is an elite pass catcher in Alvin Kamara, and got torched. While the secondary should expect to have a good game, run defense will be the determining factor. Final score: Panthers 33 New York Giants Hoodie , Giants 24Season record: 1-3Andrea HangstI see no reason for the Giants defense to be able to stop the Panthers’ top-ranked run game this week, and if that run game helps Carolina get to a lead early, the Panthers won’t have a reason to stop running, either. And while Eli Manning and the Giants offense may yet right the ship, expecting that to happen on the road against Carolina this Sunday doesn’t seem like the time or the place for it. Final score: Panthers 26, Giants 16Season record: 2-2Mark SchofieldCan this offense get right in a hurry? That’s the question facing Eli Manning and company, and they’ll need to do it against a defense that boasts a tough front seven. If there is one silver lining in facing this Carolina Panthers defense, it is that the secondary keeps it pretty vanilla in the back third. The Panthers are a zone-heavy team for the most part, often using a lot of Cover 3. There should be opportunities on those comeback routes and out routes that Manning missed in the direction of Odell Beckham last week. As we have seen with this offense, however, opportunities do not always translate to points. Until we see better execution from this unit it is hard to feel confident about their chances.Final score: Panthers 26, Giants 14Season record: 1-3Kevin HaswellThere’s no doubt that the Giants have the talent on their roster to win most weeks. That’s the part I can’t figure out. I want so badly to be able to pick the Giants to win every week but the more I pick them to win and the more they disappoint, the harder it is for me to pick them moving forward. So this week, instead of being left disappointed after another Giants loss, I am going to pick the Panthers to win decisively. The Giants will stick in this game for one half, but Carolina pulls away late to get the Week 5 win. Final score: Panthers 24, Giants 14Season record: 1-2 (no pick made in Week 4)Ed ValentineMaybe this is the key for the Giants. For the second time this season I’m about to make it a clean sweep — with everyone here at Big Blue View picking the Giants to lose. The last time this happened, Week 3 vs. the Houston Texans, was the week the Giants actually won a game.No big analysis here. Simply this — until the Giants show they can play good offense and win a game I’m just going to continue to pick them to lose.Final score: Panthers 30, Giants 24Season record: 0-4

S Malcolm Jenkins: Since his move to safety/nickel, Jenkins has been one of the best defensive backs in the league.Game OutlookTampa Bay’s win over the Saints was huge, but came at a big cost. Not only did the Bucs lose Vernon Hargreaves III for the remainder of the year http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/caleb-benenoch-jersey , but Brent Grimes will most likely miss his second straight game. DeSean Jackson and Jason Pierre-Paul aren’t out of the woods just yet, either. Both were limited in practice on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean they are a lock to play.(UPDATE: Both JPP and Jackson were full participants in practice Friday and are expected to play)The offense doesn’t need to score 48 points again to win, but they need to be able to produce effective, efficient drives at crucial junctures in the game. The Eagles have one of the best coaching staffs in the league, so it’s easy to understand that the game will not only be won on the field, but on the sideline as well. This will be Tampa Bay’s toughest challenge to date.
  20. by the Chicago Bears would be a cruel understatement.Chicago beat down the Bucs. It wasn’t close. Ever. From the jump Cheap Vita Vea Jersey , the Bears had the upper hand and Tampa Bay was never able to bounce back after falling behind early.Whether it was simple misfortune, or a series of subpar chess moves, this loss was sealed fairly early as you’ll see in our key plays from Week 4 of the 2018 NFL season. The Play: Tarik Cohen gets going from the start. That’s right. The very first play.Cohen is the very talented and very versatile running back who, for some reason, coming into this weekend’s game had topped out at eight combined touches in one game.Still, the Bucs defense had to be aware of this young player’s presence as he possesses the exact skill set to give the defense fits. Which he did.On this first play of the game, the Bears get creative and put both of their primary running backs on the field with Jordan Howard lined up in the backfield and Cohen in the slot. The pass to Cohen gets him in space and on the edge. The defense forces the speedster out of bounds after a five-yard gain, so it seems harmless. However, as we saw during the remainder of the game, this was an early tell that Chicago was going to get Cohen involved early and often and that he was going to exploit a fairly soft edge presented by the Buccaneers defense. The Play: Kwon forgets who he’s dealing with.On this 2nd-and-1 play, linebacker Kwon Alexander is moving with Tarik Cohen from the snap. As the shifty back takes the hand-off he runs into a semi-circle of Bucs defenders. When the Bears playmaker makes a stutter step to the inside, Alexander bites into the hole trying to make the stop for a loss which would have brought up a third down play with the game very much in reach and Chicago outside of field goal range.Problem is, this is Tarik Cohen, and he does what Tarik Cohen does. He switches directions on a dime and the now overcommitted linebacker is stuck by a blocker while the running back hits the edge. The loss of contain turns what could have been a stop for a loss or at worst a short gain Cheap Gerald McCoy Jersey , into a 19-yard run which not only put the Bears in field goal range, which eventually turned into a touchdown. With Lavonte David eating a blocker, Alexander needed to be aware of who he was matched up with and the fact that he was the only guy left to contain the edge. Trust in his teammates inside who were both in position to make a play on a cutback, and prevent this from happening. The Play: A touchdown - but wait! - there’s more! This play is the one which really got me worried. Mitch Trubisky isn’t all that accurate on the outside parts of the field and the closer he gets to the sidelines the worse he gets. Not this time though, as this pass was dropped in the perfect spot in the end zone. Far enough towards the boundary so M.J. Stewart couldn’t make a real play for the ball with just enough space for Allen Robinson to bring it in.But, there’s more to this play, and it’s something which would creep up again and again as the game went on. Look at the left side of the field behind the play. See the Bears player all by himself at the 10-yard line or so? That’s running back Jordan Howard. Not a huge receiving threat, but with 10-yards of nothing between himself and the end zone, the Bucs essentially gave this score away when three defenders carried Tarik Cohen into the end zone on a seam route.I guess it’s good the defense was paying attention to him, but did they really need three guys on him from just outside the 20?Miscommunications plagued the team all day, and while this one didn’t directly lead to the score, it was an early example of it.The Play: Not just the defense.Sunday’s loss to the Bears isn’t all on the defense. Not by a longshot. Here’s an example to show just how off the offense was as well. Specifically, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.Down two touchdowns, the Buccaneers moved into the red zone and had an opportunity to stop the bleeding a bit. The play call was perfect. Tight end O.J. Howard is split left against a much smaller and talent-deficient cornerback. As the play progresses Buccaneers Chandler Catanzaro Jersey , Chris Godwin - who also came open during the play - draws the Bears safety away from Howard eliminating any help the smaller defender guarding Howard might hope for.The Alabama tight end executes this perfectly. He eats the space between he and the cornerback and immediately posts him up in the end zone. Better yet, the defender has given up inside position, and is really in trouble! All Fitzpatrick has to do is fire the ball to the left shoulder of Howard who is now facing him, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in the game with an impressive touchdown drive to finish the first quarter.Nope.Not only does Fitzpatrick throw the ball towards Howard’s outside shoulder, he sails the ball over the head of the 6’6 tight end so badly that not even his outstretched arm can make even a little contact with the ball. This mirrored some of the issues Fitzpatrick had against the Steelers the week prior, and was undoubtedly one of the contributing factors to Jameis Winston being inserted for the second half. The Play: Speaking of which....Ok, maybe this didn’t have a whole lot of impact on the outcome of this game. It was 38-3 when Winston made his return to the field, and with the way things were going it wasn’t likely a comeback was in the cards.Still, after all that’s happened this off-season it was nice to see the franchise quarterback in waiting back on the field and slinging the ball around.Just in time for a bye week and key divisional match-up with Atlanta in Week 6.Series history between the Bucs and Bears The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Soldier Field this weekend, to take on the Chicago Bears. Both teams are 2-1 heading into week four, but the Bears won last week, while the Buccaneers lost. These two teams have quite a bit of history with each other. When the Buccaneers joined the league in 1977, they were both apart of the NFC central until 2001, when Tampa Bay moved to the NFC South. These two teams have squared off 78 total times Cheap Mike Evans Jersey , with Sunday being the 79th matchup. Since Tampa Bay joined the league in 1997, these two teams have played every season, but seven. This will now be the fifth year in a row that these two teams will play each other. That is extremely uncommon for teams who aren’t in the same division, but when both teams usually finish last in their respective division, this is what tends to happen. The all-time series record is probably what you’d expect. Overall, the Buccaneers haven’t fared to well against the Bears, but the last two matchups have gone in the Buccaneers favor. Make no mistake about it, this will be the best Bears team Tampa has faced in quite some time. All-time record: Chicago has won 38 games, while Tampa Bay has won 20. Last five matchups: Chicago has won three of the last five games played between the two teams. Most recent game: Tampa Bay beat chicago in week two last season, 29-7. All time scoring matchup: Chicago has scored 1,231 points, while Tampa Bay has scored 952.You can find the results and statistics of every game by clicking here.
  21. Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium for Tampa Bay’s home opener of the 2018 season. Both teams come into Week 2 with injuries Authentic DeSean Jackson Jersey , but a key member of the Bucs offense has been cleared to play. After suffering a concussion last week against the Saints, veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson passed the concussion protocol and will hit the field to face his former team. The Bucs will face a much tougher defense this week, so we shouldn’t expect the offense to play like they did last week. But with a strong offensive line, we’d have to assume that unit can still provide some protection and open up holes for the offense. With veteran cornerback Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves III out, the secondary will have to be on high alert despite the Eagles missing key players like Alshon Jeffrey and Darren Sproles. The defense’s front four will have to play at a high level to make sure Doug Pederson’s offense doesn’t burn them early and often.A Twitter List by Bucs_Nation The Bucs are recharged coming off the bye week and so are we with this week’s bold predictions. Both teams enter this game with the season hanging in the balance. Tampa Bay had a plethora of issues to fix over the extra week. Did they figure out how to correct said issues or are they problems that linger throughout the season? There won’t be an official answer until Sunday, but until then, ease your mind with these predictions for the divisional showdown in Week 6.1. Julio Jones will catch his first two touchdowns of the season (Evan)When I said ease your mind, I lied. Jones averages around 1,293 yards a season, but only about six touchdowns coming into 2018. He has yet to score this year.As great as Jones is as a player Adam Humphries Jersey , he is oddly allergic to the end zone. That will change this weekend.Jones is no stranger to success when it comes to playing Tampa Bay. No matter what, he always finds a way against the Bucs.I'll let Greg Auman of the Athletic expound my point:Yea. Let that sink in for a minute or two.Tampa Bay’s defense is trash and I haven’t seen enough from Mike Smith over the past two seasons to think anything will improve on Sunday.Jones makes his hay - and many fantasy owners happy - on Sunday.2. The Bucs rush for over 100 yards as a team (Evan)The Falcons have allowed at least 113 yards on the ground in four of five games on the season. They lost three of those, with the one victory coming against the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs, on the other hand, have rushed for 100 yards as a team just once in four games. That came in the Week 1 victory against the New Orleans Saints. Since Week 1, they have averaged a terrible 55 yards per game on the ground and are officially the worst rushing team before contact heading into Week 6.Something has to give this weekend between the two teams. Atlanta could be without Pro Bowl DT Grady Jarret for the second straight week, which would be a major victory for the Bucs’ offensive line. Jarrett is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL, even though the Falcons were giving up an average 119 rushing yards per game before his injury. Tampa Bay should have a temporary solution for the ground game after the extra week and I expect it to come to full fruition against the Falcons.3. There will be at least (10+) 20-yard plays from both teams, combined. The Falcons average right around five plays of 20 yards or more per game and give up an average of four. The Bucs average around five as well and give up about five. Expect things to stay on track this weekend. 4.Ryan Smith receives more playing time over Brent Grimes at some point for consecutive weeks. (Alex)Since returning from injury, Grimes has been picked on by opposing teams in the only two games he has played this season. Is it rust? Age? Match ups? The Buccaneers need Grimes to be at his best in order for this defense to improve. Ryan Smith played the best game of his career in week two and since then has seen very limited action outside of the second half of week four Demar Dotson Jersey , which again, he played good football. Grimes will struggle again this week and Tampa Bay will turn to Smith for help. 5. Jameis Winston has the best all around game of his career. (Alex)It might not be the boldest prediction because the Atlanta Falcons simply don’t have a good defense, but it’s something I think will happen come Sunday. Look, Winston is a lot better then the national media paints him out to be and throughout his career he has actually played some of his best ball against the Falcons. Outside of O.J. Howard, who isn’t likely to play this week, the rest of the offense is healthy and ready to go against a banged up Falcons defense. This game provides an opportunity for Tampa Bay to get back on track with their starting quarterback of the future. Can Jameis get the Bucs back on track?Quinn Harris-USA TODAY SportsWe saw it throughout the preseason, Winston is ready to go this year and is on a mission to prove people wrong. Winston goes for over 400 yards and 4 touchdowns. BOOK IT.

Hue Jackson didn't lose his nerve.Fired this week by the Browns after winning just three of 40 games in two plus-seasons, Jackson on Friday disputed owner Jimmy Haslam's assertion there was "internal discord" on the coaching staff that made his dismissal — along with offensive coordinator Todd Haley's — necessary.Days after being let go, Jackson appeared on ESPN to defend his record, describe regrets and essentially audition for another job.On Monday, Haslam, who has fired four coaches in six years, intimated that in-fighting between Jackson and Haley were at the root of his decision to make a change halfway through the season.Jackson disagreed with his former boss and said he wanted to "set the record straight.""I don't really think it was truly just about internal discord," said Jackson Authentic Baker Mayfield Jersey , who went 1-15, 0-15 and 2-5-1 with Cleveland. "I think that's a strong word. I think you have disagreements with coaches — with Todd, with (defensive coordinator) Gregg Williams, with Amos Jones, who is also the special teams coordinator. I don't think that's internal discord. I think when you look at it, the organization made a decision to go in a different direction."Jackson knows he didn't win nearly enough, and he has some misgiving about the way he handled things. Following a recent loss to Tampa Bay, a frustrated Jackson said he intended to "dive in" and help Haley. Jackson said he was only trying to help, but the comments widened a rift with Haley and sent a shockwave through the team's front office.Jackson feels that ultimately the decision to let him go was to protect rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, who may finally end the franchise's search for a long-term QB."I think when you really stop to look at it Greg Joseph Jersey Elite , it's truly really about Baker Mayfield," Jackson said. "I think they want to do everything they can to put him in a situation. You got the first pick of the draft, who I think is going to be a franchise quarterback who is going to be a sensational player, and he's not playing as well. So again, here is a perfect storm to move forward and move on. And I have to respect the decision that they made."Jackson said he was the one who hired Haley, who spent the previous six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jackson didn't want to relinquish play-calling duties — he was also Cleveland's offensive coordinator in his first two seasons — but he felt it would be better if he got help.Jackson now admits he should have never "given away the offense.""I knew that Todd Haley was a proven offensive play-caller, veteran play-caller in our division. Why would you not?" Jackson said of Haley's hiring. "I mean, let's be honest, I knew I was on the clock. You can't be 1-15, 0-16 and think http://www.clevelandbrownsteamonline.com/greg-joseph-jersey , you know you can go through the season and not win football games. I wanted to surround myself with guys that have done it, and done it at a high level, and Todd Haley was definitely one of those guys."Jackson said he felt it was important to go public with his feelings just days after being fired."I want people to understand — I'm human just like anybody else," he said. "At the end of the day, I didn't do enough. We didn't do enough to get the job done in Cleveland. So what am I supposed to do? I'm not going to go crawl into a hole and say pull the covers."Jackson knows his 11-44-1 record as a head coach doesn't make him attractive to lead a team."I hope the next opportunity for me is to go back and be a coordinator first and foremost," he said. "Go back and put my name back to where it should be, among some of the best play callers in this league. And then to move forward from there.

Nick Pivetta (4-7) was the loser. RAYS 3, ASTROS 2 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Wilmer Font and four relievers combined on a three-hitter and Tampa Bay snapped Houston’s 11-game road winning streak.
