  3. Poaching ??? It hurts everyone. The laws change, the limits change, but some peoples attitudes just do not. I'm not happy about the fluke regulations especially since New Jersey is so close and their laws are more liberal. Everyone has probably poached once at some point in their lives. Whether it's a striper that swallowed the hook and was going to die or a short fluke that was just under the legal size at the time. I see these weekend fisherman all the time keeping small fluke. What can I say to them ? What can you say without starting a argument with them. People are idiots for the most part and will do what they want when they want. They'll take a chance if they think they'll get away with it. The odds are in their favor. I can't even begin to tell about all the illegal things I've witnessed this year. From keeping small fish to shooting a shark with a gun. If I could only find my own ocean where these people couldn't fish or find me.......
  4. I would say that's a big NO.... Sharks are not coming that close to shore and it would probably be illegal to try and set up a slick witin the shoreline especially so close to the beach. I believe you have to be 3 miles out to start a chum slick. The threshers were under 2 miles south of the Atlantic beach inlet a couple of weeks ago chasing the bunker schools. That's about as close as they'll get. Join some fishing sites and make some friends with boats...... John
