Went fishing in the early am and caught the incoming...Managed 3 reds in the early am and then the bluefish came in after 8 and took control of everything. Threw whole spot just to keep bait in the water, tho still very brief. Blues were as thick as I have seen them. Got sick and tired of them destroying my bait in a matter of minutes...ended up leaving. Nice morning. Saw Jim and his new ride...very nice!
Been a very blessed season with reds...Last year, couldn't buy one.

We went off shore today on Canyon Blues. We were beyond the hot dog, there was a color and temperature break. We caught several dolphin, one white marlin, and I caught my first blue. The blue hit a 50 W reel, I came close to being spooled. Great trip, great fight.... nice swim back at the dock for two first.... a white, and a blue Marlin....

Charleston, SC - September 11, 2008

Sorry it's been so long since my last report, but I think that pictures tell the story when any angler or charter captain makes a report on the net,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I don't like taking my expensive camera on a charter but sometimes I do.
I kept the guys busy with the red drum for a while as you can see here!
The live mullet worked better than the cut mullet,,,but then again the live menhaden worked good too.
Both were used with good results. A couple of fish were caught on cut mullet.
We boated eight Red Drum anywhere from 27"-30" and got cut off by three others.
As you can see,,,the guys had a blast!
The fall spawn on the giant red drum has started already! ,,,,,I hope you guys can get out and fish for some of the best red drum fishing on the east coast here in Charleston!

Indian River, FL - September 11, 2008

I was delighted to get the opportunity to take out the grandkids this weekend. Grandma Eva and mom, Dena, met me at the ramp with 3 year old, Chloe, and 6 month old, Brody for an adventure on the water. Just remember that pinfish isn't always just for bait. Chloe excitedly reeled in pinfish after pinfish and even caught a catfish in the process.
Of course, being a three year old, she was determined to reel every fish in herself and did it like a seasoned angler. There's nothing as rewarding than watching children enjoy a day on the water!
