not yet, I almost did for drum this year. From what I hear the regs are a little tighter as far as night fishing and booze.

I fish the Chincoteague Beach on a regular basis. It is a whole different ball game compared to Assateague MD. They are strict on no alcohol on the beach, but they do not partol that often. If you want to fish at night, you need to get a night fishing pass at the welcome center and check in on a clip board. I have done fairly well there in November for Stripers and Blues the past 2 years. The one thing I enjoy about the island is that the locals are very friendly and helpful on what kind of action is going on and where. Steve's Bait and Tackle on Maddox Blvd is an excellent place to stop and get bait before getting to the beach, as well as an update on the current fishing conditions.

There's not much beach over there any more, some places on the orv are inpassable on high tide.i fish over there only if im pressed for time, can be on the beach and fishing in 30 mins from the house, but most of the time i rather drive the extra 45 mins. to fish the md side. Oh yeah if your planning to fish the va side and want fresh bait you better bring it with you!

The night fishing permit is good as long as you are alive. Just laminate it to preserve it. When I fished down there it was pretty cold outside, and it was open the whole way down around the hook end and back up through the bayside part ways. Its ashame the whole hook is off limits during peak sharking season(dang plovers). Looks very promising for a toothy. Its a very unique place and I think its worth checking it out. Bring your own bait, and I may be blind but I didnt see an air pump at the park.... had to spend a couple bucks in town filling back up... no booze... no sleeping... strictly fishing...

Cool Plenty of Big Rock action in AI/VA this weekend

See the report so far for Capt. Steve's Striper Tourney going on this weekend at AI/VA Looks like the place to be for the Big Cows might be down South

Captain Steve's Bait and Tackle in Chincoteague, Virginia

I am just paying attention to it from my PC as the wife and I are currently in Deerfield Beach for our anniversary. Good snorkling though

Capt. Steves Bait & Tackle has a web site, Can't remember it but if you call them they will give it to you over the phone. They are great about telling you what is bitting and what on. I pull the 5th wheel there in the summer and me and my son fish there when not at AI MD side.
