(general) has an aussie cattle dog, he is not on line much so i can relay any message you need to him. in my opinion they are good dogs but shed something fierce. nice laid back dogs from what i have seen.

I knew a guy with one of those, don't remember which one though.
It was a darned good dog.
They have some energy though, need to burn it off daily.

One of my friends had one that came from his step dad. I think he breads them but he lives in the mountains in NC. I could look into it if you'd like.

I am pretty familiar with that breed.

    Very Very Very Very smart
    Very Easy to train
They need to be exercised a LOT to burn off energy
They do shed oily wirely hair a lot and require lots of brushing to keep it from clumping
Toys don't last long with them because of their nipping habit
You better have lots of toys for them to satisfy their nipping habit
They don't like strangers, esp on their own turf
They are pretty healthy dogs for the most part, I think I remember eye problems as the only real health threat.

If you are considering a cattle dog make sure you have lots of time to spend training and exercising. These dogs are perfect for obedience competitions and even agility events. They love to learn new tricks and if they get bored, watchout, they will tear you house up.
