My best fishing has been when the barometer bottoms out right before a big blow.

    Ditto...

So do you ever look before deciding to go out given it's high, low, climbing falling??

I'm starting to really be choosy when I fish sometime and was curious if others do the same or just go when you can go!

There are times when the conditions line up and I'll do whatever it takes to get out. Like a front, the right wind and tide lining up.

Other then that if I planned to go I go fish, you don't get the days back so go when you can...

For example I may plan 5-6 days out during spring and fall drum fishing. I will be very selective around conditions for those 5 or 6 days. However if I'm on vacation I'll go fish regardless of imperfect conditions.

For me, it depends on the Species.
For Reds, I like a dropping barometer with an incoming tide mid way up.
Stripers, basically just before the start of snotty weather.
    Summer Charks, sunny and warm.

If I get a sudden urge or have planned a trip, I go no matter the conditions.
So the answer to the question is, both.
    Thanks for posting it Steve...

I have never really noticed a difference. Catch on all conditions except N/W wind on AI. I do like a nice east wind a few days in a row for stripers.
