    Default Aquaskinz Raptor

After getting soaking wet too many times because of rain or that wave I didn't see coming in waste deep water, I decided to order a dry top. I went for the Raptor because it is also useful when kayak fishing.

I also got a belt and attachable bag to hold a few accessories for easy access.

Has anyone had any experiences with these?

I plan on using it my next trip to the sand and I will post a review.

I want one, have for a long time. I am known to tak a dive from time to time, lol. they are expensive, around $280 most places I see them. I am anxious to hear a report about it from sam too. I have heard a few reports from others who have loved them.

I tired a dry top on at a store and the collar around the neck was unbearable to wear. I have no idea what brand I tried but I defiantly would rather be wet and cold than have to wear that thing around my neck.

Let me know how yours is Sam, I might give them another shot.

tell us about the raptor sam. the only thing I see that I might have an issue with is the neck seal. I have a fat neck.

I can't speak for Sam but the jacket looked great and definitely keeps you dry. In situations where another 5yds in the surf = a fish drytops are invaluable. They can also save your life if you get in trouble.

The jacket only lasted a couple hours but must have been lucky...he got skunked once it came off.

I have a gull with a variable neck closure but it isn't as safe or water tight as the Raptor. It is a little more comfortable to fish the surf in. For Yak fishing I'd prefer the Raptor.

Sorry for the cheesy edit but fishermen have their secrets...

nice fish there. it kills me know ing that I can get some spring drum on the point but I am just not down with the 1.5 mile hike in and out of the water. its not just the hike that gets me but the reason I am hiking if you know what I mean so I just dont go. in the surf I have a habit of taking "just one more step" (lmao). needless to say, sometimes 1 more is to many.

It is a very lightweight jacket and so far the only issue seems to be the tightness around the neck. I will have to wait until a downpour or a wrong step in the surf to see how it really holds up.

    Ben, you are a nut.
