Look at the angle of the slope on the front of the dorsal.
Looks to be quite a difference.
True but tough to tell just looking at one in person I would think. Bottom line should be just let them go in my book...clear them skates out!
The first one is a dusky as the dorsal is further back in relation to the pectoral but Kenny has the nose up so might not seem so. Also the Sandbars have more of a hump back and higher dorsal. Duskies more streamlined. Only took me 20 years to figure them out and about 3 marine biologists to set me straight. We need to start looking at the denticles with magnifier when they are small to really be sure. They get much more distinctive as they age.
