Critter Gitter really is our resident fish/animal/insect expert. Maybe he can shed some light on this too.
It wasn't until you brought this to my attention that I did further research and discovered the two fish, Whiting- Merlangius merlangus (member of the cod and haddock family and the Northern Kingfish Menticirrhus saxatilis (member of the drum family) are actually two different species.

it gets confusing when you have several of the same species (kingfish) I believe there are a couple different species caught.
