    Default Cooking Up Crabs

    I have caught them now I need to steam them!

    now all ya need is old bay, rock salt alittle beer and your good to go.. enjoy them they look like a good size.

    I like J.O. better but for most people it's hard to find in the stores in some areas, luckly I get it by 50# at a time...

    most seafood places sell it as thier own brand. crabs to go @ 50 and 589 does

    Watermans sells JO. I agree the best way to cook em is just dump a 6 pack of your favorite beer in the pot and steam away!!!!!!! sweet and succulent every time!

    We season each layer(sorry old bay and rock salt) then top off with a layer of sweet corn. JO,dosen't Habor Tackle sell that?

    If not, they should. Great stuff! My dad loves it and we've switched from Old Bay.

    Here's how I do 'em:

    3 beers (2 for the pot)
    Water
    1 cup white vinegar
    Alot of crab seasoning
    A little Crab Boil

    I clean the crabs prior to cooking(remove top shell, lungs and mustard). It allows the spices to penetrate the lump and backfin meat alot better.

    Wait until they turn orange, and they're ready to go.
