CHARLESTON (AP) - Monday marks two years to the day that two teens were rescued at sea after a grueling six days adrift in a 14-foot boat.
The two have gotten back to normal life, but still are working to get a movie made about their experiences. They are encouraged by the involvement of ABC Disney and a screenwriter whose credits include "Apollo 13." The young men won't say what they'll earn, but neither expects to get rich. Josh Long was 17 and Troy Driscoll was 15 when a fisherman found them on April 30th, 2005. Their powerless boat had been pulled out to sea from where they had been fishing off Sullivans Island and were found 100 miles up the South Carolina coast. Now Long fixes cars at Gerald's Tires in Summerville. Driscoll is a junior in high school and works part time at a Subway sandwich shop near his North Charleston home. The two even go fishing sometimes on a boat that was a gift from neighbors after the rescue. wltx.com | The Midlands Home for News, Weather, Sports and More
