Default Cobia fishing report (and rescue) Thursday May 8th

I had the day off so me and a buddy headed down to the Broad river in Beaufort for some Cobia.
Ended up with two small fish in the box, released another one that was under 33" and pulled thew hook on another that was small.
All fish were caught on squid.

The bad news is that it was so ruff in the river that the boat beside us sank with two people in it.
Had to go pick them up and carry them back to the boat ramp. The lady that was in the boat couldn't swim, but thank god she had on her life jacket! She was a little shaken up but was fine.
The coast guard came by to check it out, but we were back on the anchor and had lines in the water by the time they got there.
The rescue squad came and got the boat.

Way to go Rick!
Got to take care of each other out there.
A fine thing you did.

Did their boat get swamped due to the rough water?
Too bad common sense didn't prevail BEFORE they launched into it.
Well, except for the woman wearing her PFD!
Nice job.
