Default SURF FISHING

whats up guys... ya'll were a great hope a few months ago when i was asking about surf fishing in Bethany Beach. I return seeking more advice. This time i'm heading to Litchfield Beach, SC to try the surf fishing there. I am partial to bait fishing (i never really have luck with lores), any ideas info or suggestions as to what is hitting on the Carolina Coast? I'm brining along my younger brother who has never fished a day in his life. i want to show him why i enjoy it so much, and pulling in some nice fish would only help to get him hooked. Its short notice, i head out tomorrow night for the coast, so if anyone has any knowledge of the fishing down south, give me a shout... Thank you much

Sean

I was down in Garden City a couple weeks ago. The fishing was very slow, however I have heard reports that the spanish have shown back up. They are catching pomps in the surf as well as sheepshead along the jetties and pier pylons. The sheepshead are ridiculously hard to catch, I fished for hours after the on Surfside Pier with tons of bites, 4 hook-ups and 0 fish. If you want nonstop action rent yourself a kayak (single $75 for the week from a place I can send you to online), go to the fish market, get yourself some fillets for dinner and make sure they give you the carcasses (Seven Seas Seafood in Murrel's Inlet is who I used) if you ask they will Give you some fish heads...I'm not sure the name of the place, but there is a small bait and tackle shop on the left side heading past Seven Seas, it just looks like a run down house and they always have a sign up that says "Live Minnows" You can get Premade rigs there for $4, Sam saw them and can attest to the deal you're getting buy getting this guy's stuff. Across the street from them is a Marine Shop they have heavy leader you'll need to complete your rigs. Hook everything up, throw it on the back of the kayak and take it out past the breakers and drop it....HURRY back to the beach and get ready. I was hooking up during the day within 10-15 min and holding on for the ride....

yeah warm water in SC = good sharkin

You don't need a yak just to be able to heave. We were catching them on shrimp at one point, all they have to be is hungry. A lot of times in SC (depending on the beach) you can wade out to the bar and then cast then walk your rod back in.
