OCEAN CITY, Md.- Maryland Natural Resources Police say two extremely drunk men from Ocean City were arrested on Assateague Island over the weekend for trying to ride the wild ponies and tackle sika deer.

Police say 33-year-old Thomas A. Chapman and 27-year-old Anthony J. Marchiano are charged with disorderly conduct. Chapman is also charged with attempting to feed, touch, tease, frighten or intentionally disturb wildlife in a state park.

Officers responded to the park about at around 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. Witnesses told police Chapman was running around the campsite naked and trying to ride the ponies and tackle the deer. Police say he yelled profanities until officers arrested him.

Chapman was taken before a Worcester County District Court Commissioner and released on an unsecured bond. Marchiano was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released on his signature.
