grander blue
the "swordfish" caught a 1077 lb. blue thursday afternoon. I was there at the weigh in...MONSTER! 143 inches long x 7? inches in girth.

Nice fish...saw that it died, too bad!
Says they tried to keep it alive, but those fights take a toll on them most of the time.

It MAY have died. but I doubt that they would try to save it if it was still alive. there is a mate's pool for who ever weighs in the biggest one. $250 per mate times 14 (I think) boats in it this year means $3500 for the biggest blue.
