Default Proxy Report from Fishaholic in Corolla OBX NC

Just got off the phone with Fishaholic and he is in withdrawl from not having internet access all week. He asked me to post the report for him.

Snapper blues are all over the place and hitting everything you throw at them.

Lots of puppy drum around, he landed two of them, biggest at 29"

Lots and Lots of sharks in the water, lots of knockdowns and bite offs. He wasn't able to land any just yet, but had some in the shore break and estimated about 6ft.

He also mumbled something about twin 18 y/o Russian schoolgirls on intertubes but I couldn't understand him, so you'll have to ask him what is going on there.........

He promised to post some pictures once he gets re ordained with internet access.

Good Job Jeff!

Nah, no mullet....Plenty of small fish going out with the waves though....(2-3" long) But definitely not finger mullet. I will tell you that Finger Mullet rigs weren't the way to go....The blues loved them...but you had to keep the rod in your hand the whole time or you'd miss them and pull in nothing but a head......Cut spot or cut blue on a double bottom rig was the ticket to the snapper blues

Ok here's the full report for the week......Mon, couldn't hold the bottom with 10 oz and way too much grass in the water...Very strong South to North current. I ended up yakking out and fishing outside the second bar. I finally found some spot in about 20' of water. Fish jumping all around me, but they wouldn't touch anything I had to throw at them. Decided to try and live line a spot, and sure enough I didn't catch anymore after I'd made that decision. Fished Tue with some blues and a small puppy drum to show for a day's fishing. Wed was definitely the go to fishing day. My brother and I fished all day, Managed some Blues and small pomps in the surf first thing in the morning, then nothing all day until everything broke loose at the tail end of the incoming tide. Blues everywhere, Sharks swimming through our lines and breaking us off etc. My brother lost a couple big fish. I had a wire snelled hook bitten off (had to switch from mono snelled, we kept pulling in our rigs missing hooks) As my brother was checking his bait, I noticed my rod (cut spot and blue) bending....I really thought he was tangled in my line....then it doubled and stayed down....I grabbed the rod and fight was on....Light tackle, 8' spinning with an old Daiwa Regal 5500 loaded with 12# mono...What a great fight, then I pulled in the catch of the week, it was a nice 29" Red Drum.....We continued fishing, I threw out a shark rig from waist deep water (literally threw) I must've nicked my line with the weight because as soon as I picked up the rod, I saw the shark in a wave and the line popped....Easy 6' but we'll never really know. Thur was tough, but we didn't get skunked...a couple small spot from the surf. Fri was just as slow until the evening rolled around and I yakked some baits out (only night that was calm enough to yak) Around 10:30 one of the two rods starts bouncing and I hear the clicker...Belt on, fish on, after a 20-30 min fight I landed a nice 6 1/2-7' Female Sand Tiger, snapped some photos, got the hook out and got a good release on her. We continued fishing until about 3am when we decided to pack up...when we started reeling in all 3 rods that were in the water were tangled....Next thing you know....I feel a head shake!!!! Shark #2 on...I handed the rod to my brother and he started the fight...about 20 min later a nice 6' male sand tiger was on the beach. I was using whole blues we caught fishing the bay a couple weeks ago.....Now for the pictures.....
